Great place, restaurant nearby with great food and live music when we stayed here. The campsite is far enough and between the palm trees to still have privacy. A lot of thrash around the place, but we cleaned it up. Let’s keep the beaches clean.

WalMart Supercenter just off the I81. In a retail plaza with a Lowes, Petco, and some others. Large parking lot in front. Asked at Customer Service if OK to stay. It was. Only us and a Class C that I could see. Parking lot has a gentle downhill slope but we found a spot along an island that was level for our Class B. A parking lot ride-on sweeper started up at 9pm but did our area immediately then moved on. Could have been noisey if they did our area during the wee hours but that didn't happen. In our location, we didn't hear any delivery trucks come or go to Walmart or any other of the stores. Very remote highway noise (more like "sound" versus noise) and we
had a great sleep. Stayed the one night then moved on. Walmart hours during our stay were 6:30am to 11:00pm

O camping é enorme, arborizado, na frente da praia e pertinho do centro. Porém a infraestrutura é péssima!!!

Good spot for swimming and hanging out. Water and a little AC, for phone charging only. The water has a metric faucet if you need to fill up. Showers were provided, great place. Yuri was one of the owners and a big help. Cost 10K CRC.

Stayed here for 4 nights but really wouldn’t recommend. We didn’t realise Wildlife Camp was up the road and we wish we had gone there. The owners were away I think but in general we found the staff really unhelpful. There was no hot water and we informed them of this, they said an element had gone on our first night. There was nothing done to fix this and when it came to paying we asked for a small discount because we’d had crap cold showers in dirty bathrooms for 4 nights and we were just snubbed and still had to pay the exuberant $15/night. Another tent was right next to ours, the area is pretty small, so we didn’t feel completely relaxed. The monkeys add to this as you can’t sit and cook and enjoy with having to fend off monkeys. We have certainly had much better views too, it’s quite closed, from what we’ve seen the view at Wildlife Camp is a lot more open allowing better views. The pool was a plus for this place but ultimately we feel it’s a rip off and wouldn’t come back.

Amazing beach spot! Spent 2 nights here alone. Under the palm tree so you can have shade the whole day. Great spot to surf as well, especially for beginners. There is millions of ermit crab right next to it leaving in the coconut!
The restaurant down the road “Tiki Hut” has amazing food. Try the sea food pasta !! They is a water tap next to them, great to fill bottles and portable water tanks.

Ended up staying 10 nights—the time went quickly. There isn’t too much to say that hasn’t already been said. We are not dog people, but the dogs were incredibly sweet including with six-year-old Caspian. No problems at all. The weekends could be loud around the campfire (some nights until 1 am or so), so keep that in mind if you’re parked close by. It can be difficult to get level, but leveling blocks should do the trick. Getting down into the city definitely take effort, but we enjoyed the process of taking all the forms of transportation. Ended up going into the city three times. Keep in mind cable cars close at 6 pm.

no way to get the visa if you dont have a plane tycket. apprently it was still possible until end 2022 but the ambassy received new instruction from the minister wich make them not able to deliver visa to overlander. I spoke with 4 differents personne at the ambassy. 3 of them where unhelpful. The lasy one much nicer but no way to help me anyway.
Before to go to the ambassy i did the prepayment of 58 euros and i had to book an apointement. It doesnt help. I couldnt get my money back either.

good luck travelers !

Nice spot, got here easily w my 2WD van, some mud and puddles but mostly dry.
Parked near the boat ramp last night but was in and out of Verizon coverage. Here I'm toggling between 1 and 2 bars.
Kinda depressing all the evidence of jerks, that I don't think are campers. seriously, litter is still a thing?
Gorgeous forest and river. Me and my dog are the only ones here. Ahhh.

Got the visa to Ghana single entry with no express service for 40k XOF. Travelling by public transport.
They gave us a hard time because we were not Ivorian residents and at some point the friendly receptionist said they couldn't give us the visa. After speaking with the Consul she said that they could give us the visa if we printed our itinerary and gave proof that we were on a long journey (and hence not able to get the visa in our home country).
Took 5 working days and they ended up giving us the visa.

This consulate/embassy hands out Visas. You must do the application online before and come only if you have an appointment. On the website, you have to say that you are Ivorian citizen. It's okay.

Dry camping at the end of a cul de sac overlooking the river and beach. OK for an overnight (all established CGs were full). I stayed in a 25' class C with no problems other than the locals hanging out drinking beer. No problems, just noise. The next morning I filled two garbage bags with cans, bottles and trash. No place to put it. Could be really nice except for the garbage.

It's a really good campsite. Hot showers, potable water available in the bathroom's taps (a local guy confirmed it is potable) and trash bins are also present. Thanks Cerro Sombrero for this free awesome campsite :))
