Escapetotheworldblog | Nice place above town with many overlanders. Big grassy parking in 3 terraces. Owners Mili and Edgar are nice. Hot showers. Water not potable. Price 12s per person and also per rig. The only problem was laundry service - they don't have a dryer so they just hang clothes outside. Weather was so-so but they still said that for sure it's gonna dry until the next day. Well, it didn't, it didn't in next three days. So I really recommend that you use another laundry service down in town, there are really dozens everywhere around. |

janet.l.kunz | Tried to stay there, got „the knock“ by the police at 11pm. Nice guy, told us sleeping in the parking lot after business hours is not allowed. The 16h stay signs are for the „main streets“ only. He told us to move to one of the streets, we did so. |

88rich | Beautiful spot with lots of open spaces. Be careful driving in and our as there are several paths to take but some are thick with fine sand/dust that you very easily can get stuck. We disconnected our 4x4 2500 series truck to go into town and almost didn’t make it out after picking a path that was too sandy. Our 32ft Coleman/Dutchman Lantern travel trailer fit in just fine. Our dogs enjoyed the water and we had a nice fire. |

Overlanderdream | We came here with our car with rooftop tent and asked if we could camp here (since there is not a lot of camping places available around here). We were told that we could stay on the parking lot and price is $5 per person, non negotiable.
Of course we knew what we were getting into when agreeing to this, since staying at a parking lot is never ideal. However I think they could have handled the situation a lot better. I mentioned to them that I thought the price is very high when checking out, but they did not seem to care or want to hear any feedback. Furthermore their exchange rate for paying in kwacha was way off as well (150 kwacha more per dollar than the actual rate). Have to say the bar/restaurant area is very nice with a good vibe though. Great view of the lake and we had some good pizza on sunday night (after we send them back since they were a bit doughy). Last but not least I would like to ask management to give the security guards some mosquito repellent. Poor guys sitting outside all night without any repellent. Naturally we gave them some of ours. |
