Sorry, but we don’t understand the happiness with these spot. It is just street parking. We were not happy with it and searched for another one. We did a clearer pic for everyone who would see the surrounding.

Small road on the left. We checked out this spot but decided not to stay. Lot of trash, lots of bullet sockets... It is now as nice as we thought so we left.

bridge crossing creek is snowed in still, pretty hummocky, could probably do in a high clearance 4x4 but didn't want to roll the dice with my van

Torneira de água, exatamente no lugar indicado, logo na entrada a esquerda. Tem um estacionamento grande por toda a área, não tem placas proibindo pernoite, mas não fiquei aqui.

Water faucet, exactly in the indicated place, right at the entrance on the left. There's a large parking lot all around the area, no signs prohibiting overnight stays, but I didn't stay here.

no idea how this doesn't have more reviews, it's a great stop. free dump with (maybe) potable water. potable, high flow water at the pumps. filtered water refill inside. better store than most gas stations.

We called to ask for the price, he asked for 1700pesos per person (with a tent). It sounded like a too high price considering the highest we've payed in the area is 1500pp in Purmamarca which is very touristy. He didn't accept a lower price so we didn't stay

First mechanic I’ve stopped at since crossing over from Baja. Didn’t love them. They more of a business and less of a backyard mechanic. I tend to like the backyard mechanics better because they let you help and are passionate about the rig. Prices seemed normal to me though. They did take awhile to get the work done while not answering many questions. They also refused to change my front dif oil as they said “it’s not important and too hard to do.”

180p per liter of oil
180p for oil filter
120p for grease
348p for labor

Hate to be a downer but I figure I’d be honest in my review

Pros:
The room we had was palatial in size. (We posted a video on FB and IG of the room today.)
Lots of room to park a big rig. Private lot off the street.
It's the only show in town.

Cons:
No A/C. The guys said there was "aire", and indeed there is a heat pump head in the room. But apparently none of them are hooked up. There was a fan that blew air from outside into the room, but when it's 30°C+ outside this doesn't help.
The wifi is very slow.
The water pressure is very poor. Combined with very soft water, and it takes a long time to rinse soap off. It took a few minutes, but there is hot water.
Conclusion:
There are worse places, and it's an hour to the next hotel.

Pull off right before and under bridge was muddy, and road in bad shape. Gave it a go in my ford transit and was quickly put in check. Thankfully reversed out and going hour east down road to byre lake. Worth a look if you have time, close to highway and was a cool spot, but don’t count on it if your coming in late.

We found this spot when driving towards the spot further down the road. It is a small pull-off , large enough for two or three vehicles.

No “no camping” signs, not much traffic throughout the night. Slept well and felt safe.
It has a bit of an incline, so be prepared.

no illegal tolls today, just major roadworks to repave the highway and redo sewer systems. expect some delays.

This is a very popular campground with its closeness to Devil’s Tower. There are flush toilets, water, no showers, no electricity. It’s by the Belle Fourche River and very scenic. There are trails connecting the campground to the other trails in the monument.

They built a big gate and now staying in your car is possible for $10 per night. We didn’t see any facilities so we moved on. Wouldn’t recommend.

We needed a shower, laundry and registration. We slept in our own camper on the parking behind the hotel. Many curious, but very sweet kids around. Quiet at night. Gave $12 dollar in total.

The owner is super friendly and the room that we could use for shower looked very tidy and clean. Would recommend.

Crossed this border from Uzbekistan to Tadzjikistan. Very fast, within one hour everything was done. They don’t get many tourists it seems, everyone was a bit surprised about two Dutch people in a campervan, but all very helpful.

Uzbek side: they check car papers and do customs check, then passport stamp and finished. No costs and nobody asked about registration papers.

Tadzjiek side: stamp passport, wanted to see dog passport. They charged us $5 for “eco tax”, and $25 for the road/customs tax. There is no such thing as eco tax at other Tadzjiek border posts, so I told them I have only $25 dollar and they should figure it out. It caused some confusion, but in the end it was okay. Also: when we translated the paper I got for the “eco tax” later on, it said that it was for our dog, but it also said that this paper is supposed to be free. So we were happy we didn’t pay extra.

I asked for 30 days for the car and that was okay, so we don’t need to extend. They also didn’t need to check the car on the Tadzjiek side, we could leave straight away. All in all pretty smooth and very fast.

The place is currently under construction, but it’s supposed to be finished in 2 weeks from now.

The shop was open however and we could get a small tour. It was still worth a visit, but the tour was a bit minimal, maybe because of construction.

They asked $3 pp for the tour, silk scarves are $30.

Diesel for 9000/L. Diesel is generally not hard to find in Uzbekistan in 2023. However: the Fergana valley was the only place where we didn’t see many places that sold diesel.
