I think the comment on 15/04/23 has got mixed up with somewhere else. This is a level hard surface carpark, opposite Walmart that is now permanently closed since March 2023, there is 24 hour security on site. The performing Arts centre is temporarily closed. The carpark also borders the Highland Community Swimming pool, 3$ for an adult swim (check hours) toilets and hot showers. We stayed 3 nights with no problem. There is a big homeless population in Albuquerque, however we only saw 3 people during the night who walked through without disturbing us.

Lot of quiet and nice spots on the shoreline >> this one was our favorite. Has small palms and (from now on) trash bag on site (:

Large pullout/dirt lot next to a creek with a couple trails leading into the woods. Large enough clearing for good solar and Starlink. One bar ATT, no T-Mobile or Google Fi.

Well stocked tienda with some vegetables, pastas, canned food, snacks, etc. Even sells a little bit of hardware. Open from early in the morning till noon.

Actually a co-op and not husky. Water spigot near front door. Very friendly. Buy gas while you are there as a token of appreciation.

Nice hotel. 70,000 for two people with private bath. Hot water. Bicycles stayed downstairs in back room while we got a room on the 2nd floor. WIFI ok.

The Hotel Royal Class is next door. I checked them out and the man was extremely rude. It was cheaper but I would never stay in a place run by a rude guy. I’ve been in Colombia almost 3 months and he was by far the rudest person I came across in 3 months of cycle travel.

We loved this spot, smells like a farm but the most beautiful sunset and interesting history. Warning however! We noticed a pretty big gouge out of one of our tires the next day and had to have it replaced. Could have happened anywhere but suspect it was some sharp obsidian on the ground here.

Beware of seasonal closures - attempted on 5/18/23 but gate closed appx 1.5-2 miles prior to spot with sign posted stating ‘road not open yet’ without any information when reopening.

Cracker Barrel shares a lot with some businesses and a hotel but it’s a huge lot. Parked near the back by an overgrown field.

This place doesn't exist anymore. Closed and forbidden to enter.

The place is locked off season. There's only a pullout from the main road where you could park. But definitely not a place to spend the night so exposed and close to the road. Horrible!

Unfortunately closed for the season from 02.05. on.

Very nice showers. Hot water, lot of pressure, no time limit. And best of all, only $1. 10 cabins on men's locker room. Bonus: free wifi and big parking lot.

There are several campgrounds near the lake, but this location is one of my favorites because it is dispersed camping and sites are spread out. Class B vans may not be able to make it down close to the water as the sand and gravel is soft and loose. I recommend heavier 2 wheel and front wheel drive vehicles stay farther to the top of the hill. Four by fours won't have any problem going farther down. Also, stay on the well marked roads and paths. There are undetonated explosives everywhere and signs warn of this. Walker Lake is incredibly beautiful, although it is sad to see the water has receded greatly since my last visit a few years ago. If you love pristine scenery and a mostly quiet location, I highly recommend this primitive campground. Highway 95 noise can be heard in the background, but it's not too bad, calms down at night after dark. Bring everything you need including plenty of water. This is a carry in / carry out campground. As stated in other reviews, it gets really windy here! Stargazing at this location is absolutely incredible!

No Camping signs today when I checked. No overnight parking sign as you drive down the hill as well.

I called ahead and made sure they allow overnight parking. Two different people verified this for me. There’s a Carl’s Jr., clean bathrooms, pay showers, and RV parking on the side of the lot. There is also a small-ish fenced dog area with a side for over 30 lbs and a side for under 30 lbs. It’s right off of I-80, but google maps took me a weird route down a tangential highway for about 3 miles for some reason (still got me here). Great place to stay the night!

très beaux espaces de camping face au lac. par contre, ÉNORMÉMENT de maringouins. On nous a dit qu'ils sont présents TOUT l'été. Impossible de sortir du campeur sans se faire piquer donc préparer vous en conséquence.

Très beaux terrains de camping avec belle vue sur le lac. 30$us pour la nuit sans service. Très tranquille aussi et bon réseau cellulaire. Par contre, il y a ÉNORMÉMENT de maringouins et il est impossible de sortir du campeur sans se faire piquer. On nous a dit qu'ils sont présents tout l'été donc préparez vous en conséquences.

I wanted to stay here for the night but it was very unclear for what they charge. The guy asked me for 200 for using his facilities. But as I sleep in my car I have to pay the 250 for the parking lot as well. The guy in the parking lot didn’t let me choose a place in the shade what felt really weird for me. After I asked @Ikal and the women there were such arrogant and told me that they charge a hundred dollar for tent camping I left finally.

This is a small USFS with 9 campground sites with 3 pull thru for big rigs. all sites are big and not cramped at all. super clean vault toilet, trash, water pump thang and access to Crescent Creek and some really good brook trout fishing so I hear. at the time of this posting may 18th 2023 many campgrounds and dispersed roads were closed (Snow and downed trees) for another 2 weeks. only bummer is it is right off the cresent cutoff road. not too bad though.

We were invited to stay in the garden of Allison. Had a great time! She is a great person that really enjoys to host travelers. If the car is here, you can knock on the door and ask!

Stayed here for 1 night. Very nice neighborhood, quite at night and felt very safe. No facilities, except for the porta potti in the park that I’m not quite sure it was open.

Safe place to spend the night. A few places to park on the back of the fuel station so you don’t hear to much noise. Small market and restaurant to buy snacks.

Paid 22 soles to refill our 5kg bottle. Staff really friendly and helpful. Close to the PanAmerican so if you are nearby, definitely a great spot to recharge your gas
