mototravel.net | Came through here, southbound, nothing really sketchy about this place. yes the guys are not marked but they're either FGE or aduana looking for smugglers and contraband.

FamdAms | Very nice place, basic amenities, cold shower. Contact was through the daughter which has her own place in Guatape so her parents did not know we will arrive. Nevertheless they were very welcoming and sweet |

rlopg87 | Perfect place to rest and spend a few pleasant days next to the beaches of Cuyo. They have very good internet, water, bathrooms and showers. There is also a shared kitchen. Best of all, they have a place to empty their dirty water tanks |

Mickrezek | This is a fantastic campsite! Take a right into the area just off 83. No road noise or Verizon cell service. Very clean vault toilet. |

@michaeldmacdonald | 293 rand for the two of us in a tent - but they didn’t have change so really it was 300 ;) The whole place is secured with fences and a big entrance gate but judging from empty bottles etc locals do use it as a hangout spot. It was deserted when we were there though, with no one except a security guard who sits outside the ablutions all night to prevent people stealing the pipes. It’s a huge site, it’s really worth pitching your tent beyond the brick ablutions as before that the sites are covered in thousands of spiky balls that will puncture through groundsheets and pop your sleeping mattresses etc (they did ours!). We had literally hundreds of these spikes stuck in our bicycle tyres and flip-flops so be warned! |

shawnamonet | Google maps showed as closed but was actually open. Small rest stop, well lit, restrooms, dog area, picnic tables, vending machines. Stayed one night unbothered. |

scotcohlmeyer | Stayed one night in a tent next to the lake. It was extremely unclear if it was open or we should pay but in the end 4 groups including us camped there and no one asked us for money. Possibly too early for the season.

nos2_bike_barraca_4x4 | Quase um wild camping, a falta de energia elétrica é o charme do lugar, só acho que o banho poderia ser aquecido de outras formas. Banheiros muito bom. Experiência ímpar. |

georgina.aitken29 | Was set up on a street nearby and a cop came to give us a ticket even though there was no explicit signs because it was “residential only” in that area. He was very nice and didn’t give us a ticket but just told us to move to beacon hill park and nobody will care if we stay there. Was a pretty peaceful night once we drove and got set up here, easy to find parking even at 9pm. |

victoriapetersen34 | Nice gas station to sleep. Agree with the previous comments. The showers have hot water. There were also people camping in tents when we were there. They put their tents in the sheltered cooking area in the back |

samdstorm | Spent one lovely quiet night here. Felt safe although we can't say we know whether it's actually safe to boondock around this area. They hold a yearly festival here and there is a monument marking a 2003 Pavarotti concert - must have been good! Bit of trash and looks like people come to ride around and hang out on weekends, but we were alone on a weekday. Occasionally cars come and go on the laguna, you can see anyone coming from miles away. You can just see the highway but far enough away to be quiet. The ground looked soft but was surprisingly hardpacked, at least at this time of year. Decent amount of shade available. Nice sunset and a good sleep after staying in Mexicali carparks! |

wildbirdsfamily.com | Great public campsite, enjoyed the place and pricing is good compared to other places. Bathrooms are nice and clean, it comes with a braai stand, table and a thatched roof where you can shelter. Water on site but no power. |

t1zod | As others described, there are 2-3 pull offs from the dirt road. There was someone parked in that first larger spot so I kept going to the second one in. Pretty rutty but my Nissan Rogue had no problems. Rained in the morning so I left because I was worried it would get stuck. |

pascalvdven | Waves crashes the shore 5-10 meters from campsite. Quiet little site, decent facilities, small shop just up the road. Several shops and places to eat nearby. Friendly brothers (speak German and some English) keep place tidy. No WiFi and 4G is dodgy, so grab a book or decent company instead 😉. |

guillecandeleda | Very nice spot in this hidden gem that is Mutatá. A place surrounded by deep blue rivers in the middle of the humid rainforest of Urabá. We camped by the house of Santiago that is about to start his hostel. He is also a tour guide that can take you to the different places around the village. Totally worths it because is an unexplored area that has much to offer! |
