Free camping. Can get busy on weekends. Must park along road but campsites are generally off of the road 30 to 50 yards. Some less, a few more. Couple pull offs for truck campers off the road. Several trailheads to hike. Trout fishing is stocked trout. Gravel road. Very dusty when dry.

We ask to the police and we camped in their backyard. safe and quiet place (although dogs, roasters, donkies...). we could pick some water to cook and filter and we could use their toilets. there is free wifi in the main square of the town.

Well established road leaves the Alaska Highway and climbs steeply to a radio tower site at the summit of a small mountain. There is a turn around and well protected camp site near the base of the mountain. Small RV's could go this far. Trucks or high clearance vehicles can make it to the top. There are no turn around options once you start up the road until you get to the top, and some sections are steep. At the top are great views and space for several vehicles to park, though the wind noise through the tower can be loud. A 4x4 trail leaves the top and continues for many kilometers in the alpine, with excellent camp sites along it mostly used by hunters in the fall. We easily found space for 2 trucks 30 seconds down the 4x4 trail. Please be gentle on the alpine vegetation!

Beautiful campsite with a view over the swamps and with plenty of grass and shade. Benches around the camp to sit and watch the world go by. We did the walk around the park which is beautiful and interesting, but in reality we didn’t need to leave camp as saw sitatunga, colobus monkeys, crowned cranes, bushbabies, genets and even the elusive De Brazza’s monkey came to visit.

The camp staff offered a bonfire which we declined. Ablutions clean and functioning. Electric points in the gazebos. Staff were really lovely and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we wanted and were happy to point out items of interest.

All in all, a very peaceful and beautiful little park and interesting to see how such a small reserve can work so well.

$20 pppn for camping + $22 pp for entry. Can’t remember the car fee but typically low like rest of Kenya. They are now on a new payment system so entry needs to be handled online via an e-citizen account. Was very new when we arrived so a few teething problems. Staff were great at trying to guide us through the process, but the system is completely out of their control.

After I was looking for English type of bottom bracket for a while, finally I got it here. And they have special removers and skills, knowledge as well. THE BEST BIKE SHOP in west Africa I think.

Side roads can be rough in spots, but overall fine for most vehicles. Many campsites throughout; arrived in the afternoon on a Friday and had plenty to choose from. No amenities, but you can drive to the Sherman Summit rest stop on I-80 if needed.

El lugar está abierto, auto g5000 y x persona g1000. Podes pasar el dia frente al agua, hay mucha sombra, baños pero sin ducha, no se puede nadar pero para pasar un día caluroso es muy lindo!!

The Place is open, g5000 per car and g1000 per person. Is great to spend a hot day, but are no showers and the access to the water is forbiden, but is plenty of shade and space.

there is no showers and we arrive and the music from the employees make us impossible to sleep there, so we move to the fire department, there was a little crouded with 6 vans, so we park in the street for the nigth and was fine!

no hay duchas y la música de los playeros hizo que nos vayamos de ahí. Vinimos a los bomberos y había otras 6 vans asique estacionamos al costado en la calle y dormimos perfectos!

stayed a few days, it was a fantastic spot! lots of camping up the road, no reception, and a gorgeous lake nearby. 110% recommend

Park on Mary Street or back into spot in parking lot if open.

très belle place. relativement calme (l'aéroport n'est pas trop loin et il y a un train qui passe pas loin). grande places et toilettes sur le stationnement. vraiment agréable.

Es un EDS con un restaurante Altoque y tiene una llave (grifo) disponible para llenar agua (water) del RV. Nosotros llenamos 300 litros gratis (free). Aprovechamos para tanquear diesel ahí mismo.
La llave está al lado del punto de inflado de llantas.

Very quiet, residential street. Overnight parking allowed. Near beach and a beach parking lot. Take care of the space!

Place has been marked as closed, we stayed in our car one night though. Nobody complained, no fee or whatsoever 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely beautiful! A new favorite spot. Quiet and clean. I went in September and it was very windy but I stayed for a week becuase I loved it there so much and would have stayed longer if I didn't need a part for my van. 5/5. Harm Lake West

Great place close to the town. Safe & secure. Clean hot showers . Lots of space for camping behind the Guesthouse even for big rigs.

Stayed here midweek and weekend. Left alone during the week night. Friday night Patrol informed us city would be paving lot soon and would probably allow evening parking once paving project was done. Didn’t kick us out immediately and just said to leave in am.

Well maintained campground. As already mentioned by others there are pit toilets, hot shower (2$/3min) and a store. There is even a small restaurant which provides payable wifi. No reception throughout the whole park. Last 30km to the campground is on a gravel road. There are many trails and viewpoints in the park.

You can no longer transit this road. It is blocked by locked gates about 40km in from the east. We tried our best, but eventually met someone who worked for the landholders, and they told us the road was closed years ago. However there are still signs at both ends.

Cute spot, no issues staying here. Not much traffic nearby. Would stay here again!

The place is a little dumpy, but cheap & did the job. Did laundry here after staying at the nearby Walmart.
