Stayed one night several RVs in the lot with us, no problems. They have large parking spots if you need one.

This is our second time staying here. It’s a small well spaced campground around a pond, in a town park. It’s very close to I-70, so there’s road noise, and also trains passing, but it feels very pleasant and safe.

Great place for the night, quiet and calm!

Federal Wildlife Officer came by and informed me that it is illegal to camp here.

Water spouts available by all the truck diesel pumps. The shop attendant said we were more than welcome to use them if we had our own hose.

We arrived after dark, nice place indeed but not long after we had a policeman knocking on our door. According to him, it's a very dangerous spot. Someone of a nearby village called us in but in a way of being worried, not bothered. We were escorted to a town five mins further towards the south, approved by the popo, I also put it on iOverlander.

We stayed at the hidden spot a bit further down the road but after half an hour a policeman came and escorted us here. You can park wherever you feel. Big area, level, and more social control and thus safer according to the officer. Felt safe indeed.

Nice mechanics, they can weld steel and aluminum.
They welded my broken aluminum bike pannier rack for 40 yuans (5 euros).
When I arrived the mechanic was welding a big steel piece on a truck.

Beautiful views! Visible from the small road, which had surprisingly many users in the early evening. There are very bright LED lampposts on during the whole night, which light up the parking lot like a soccer field - not very relaxing without good curtains. Otherwise nice place, loads of space.

Place is reopen and fully renovated. Stunning place directly on the Nile with a lot of activities offered. The new tarmark road is finished. Camping is around 10-15US$ pp, depending on specials. (+256770686076)

Located on the way to Assalem. A good place with a beautiful view. Located above the road but still quiet. A flat place with some fireplaces. It seems that the Iranians also use this place frequently at warm temperatures.

Clean and comfortable little guest house. Got a room with fan and ensuite for 53000Tz shillings. Solar power when electricity is off, but not enough for the fan. Good breakfast with eggs included. The lady manager is great, as is the owner. Beer available. Secured parking behing the gate for only motorcycles and bycicles. Acess from tar street is 200m of dirt road with many potholes: beware when it rains! They can call guides for hiking lower trails in Kilimanjaro. Wifi available, but too slow. Good Vodacom signal. Overall a nice place.

97 yuans for a double room, about 12 euros. Clean, private bathroom, squat toilets. No breakfast. Super friendly staff, they let us park our bikes in a garage and as we were hanging out in the lobby they shared their lunch with us. No English, but they know how to use a translator. No cigarette smell.

Two bedrooms and one bathroom, small kitchen and beautiful deck. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Hot Water and Electricity. unit has everything needed for a self-catering experience (pots, pans, utensils, and microwave)

It's in a private house. Like everywhere in Oman people are putting an outside water tap. But it's for little use not to fill-up your tank.

Really lovely beach spot! Some trash, though. Well known: there were locals sleeping at the other end and fishermen in the morning. We had a quiet night.
For info: the larger beach to the west would also have been an option. The approach is easier and there are some spots next to the sand aswell.

On the west end of the airport there is a INM office in case you drove past the border aduana building accidentally. You can either try parking car next to the curb (challenging) or park in the parking garage like I did (easy but you gotta pay). Got the FMM very fast.

Permit still 1000 MZN for 14 days. Friendly staff. Make sure to stay only in areas explained by them. Fines are 24000MZN if you drive where not allowed.

As the campsite at Marang was closed due constructions we headed here - they reopened their camp again. It is not so well maintained (only some patches are green, half of the power plugs dont work and on one side they collect construction material from the lodge. The women side of the ablution was closed but it was clean in the men part with good water-pressure (very hot), toilet paper and soap. We had a quite night and got waked up by the birds. Still best opion when you want to camp close to town. $110ppn
