Typical Walmart stop for one night. We were able to set up on a concrete pad on the north west side of the parking lot.

This is a sports field with changing room style facilities (including toilets and showers). I arrived there at 6:30pm and the site was still open and the building with the amenities was unlocked.
6 showers available all with clear running water ( !may not be potable!).

It’s all the other commenters had to say. We pulled into the gravel road with the stone sign & road in as far as we felt safe as the road dipped unevenly. We turned back to grab a fairly level spot. There was a row of RVs along the horizon closer to the lake & noticed another road they probably used just past the road with the mining sign. It’s so quiet and peaceful here!

This place is great! Very overlander friendly. Secure, welcoming and option to camp in their big tents as well as some limited space to pitch a tent. We saw others sleeping in their rigs. Great pool with a bar serving super cold beer to enjoy the sunset behind the beautiful sand dunes. Highly recommended.

Ecocamp Huacachina in Ica -14.08910, -75.76382

Vary nice , well maintained. Lots to do within the camp. Hiking, fishing , kayaking/canoeing and swimming in the small lake . Tent sights have shade and picnic tables along with bear boxes. We walked around the campground and didn’t see a campsite we would be unhappy with. Gated with code for after hours entrance but still secluded in ONF .

Stayed two nights in the flat pullout off the 2wd road. access to the shore remains very rough and only recommend 4x4. Some road noise from passing gravel trucks during weekdays. very beautiful location.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is in a garage and max 2 cars can fit behind each other. It Is safe and quiet at night, at daytime dogs are barking like crazy. Check beforehand if there is availability and if your car fits (height and width). Toilet and hot shower available, non-potable water as well. Good Wi-Fi. John is super friendly and enthusiastic and he knows a lot and can help with a lot. The laundry nearby was good and fast. The ceviche restaurant is open daily 10am til 17pm. With a taxi/Uber we went to the city in 15-20 minutes. Uber is a bit difficult to get, you have to be patient. We paid 60 pesos/night for 2 people in a Sprinter. Also storage is possible. When we arrived, John was travelling, so his Mum welcomed us and explained everything. John was always available via WhatsApp and he speaks good English.

This caretaker was very nice. Site is open but not well attended this early in the season. Hot shower was nice, but the drain is slow and floods the bathroom.

There are no “No Parking” signs but the locals are tight-knit and plentiful and I felt under close watch in the morning! Lots of early morning dog-walkers and visitors. Would not recommend!

Bel endroit pour camper meme si le lac est a sec ici. Aucun service et en se mettant un peu a l ecart du restaurant on est au calme !!

Potrerillos -32.95199, -69.20305

Potable water on right of building, not labelled. Not really a great lot for trying to access water if you have a larger RV or trailer setup.

Maverick on the south side of town also offers potable water, clearly marked, AND a free dump station, which is great. And it's a much larger, more accessible lot.

FYI, both sides of the road are part of Gathland State Park land. Former resident for 55 years. I'm fairly sure overnight parking is not permitted, stay at your own risk.

Centennial Park 33.78850, -113.56111

Needed a dump station as we are traveling across the country and the stop before this one was cemented in. That was in Alabama. Bummer!! But just crossed the Georgia state line and yahoo!! Thank you Georgia!! Take the truck route and go around towards the exit and there is the dump station.

Perfect spot. So close to town. Showed up on a Friday in the dark. Another person pulled up later, training wilderness responder. Several cars up and down the road, not too many. Felt a little exposed at first but after a good night sleep I would definitely come back.

This spot is mint. Very clean. Nobody else at the moment. There are two entrance roads - one is gated and the other is not. Keep your eyes on the left for the trails that lead to the GPS pin.

Johnnie Mine Road 36.44709, -116.06421

Great spot at lake. No amenities at all. 4G. You leave with your trash, no trash baskets. Completely wild place. Water from the lake. Fire you can make with some logs you may carry. Not good for tents, as ground is very rocky and irregular. Keep it clean.
