We went to an iOverlander location at the skate park, but it was full of parked cars. We looked for a police officer and asked where we could sleep and they told us that Bairro Morasurco was safe and showed us the location. We found this gas station and they allowed us to stay the night for free. We didn't use any resources, we just spent the night.

Aptly named--paradise! Like driving into Jurassic Park. Grassy, palm-lined campsites and a little river/creek running by. $250 pesos. Flush toilets, showers, electric (we did not use), cell service, playground for kids, firewood $100pesos, polite young man running the place brings you a metal fire pit to use. Great little jungle trail to explore. Level, shaded campsites. Our only mistake was parking directly under a security light that comes on at dusk--otherwise, great.

If you want to sleep, don’t stay here!!! We had a horrible night. Of course, to visit Old Al Ula it’s perfect, but at 10:30 pm the nightmare begun. It was busy until 4 am, endless cars and very loud people. At 6 am a man starts to sing verses from the Koran next to our window. What a night! Never again!!!

Big parking lot to park in and good for one night. Close to the road but quite enough throughout the night.

Sunday morning the parking lots and sporting fields were full of people at around 7am. Entrance/exit gate for vehicles was locked from 8pm until 6am.

Be careful: highest pressure ever - we flooded our truck :-). Thanks for that possibility to get water very quickly. There is a hose, so when you park near, you will have a quick stop!

On a demandé à Walmart si c’était possible de dormir 1 nuit, ils ont dit oui et nous ont indiqué de ce mettre sur un parking à côté car leur parking en face de l’entrée ferme la nuit.

We booked online the day before for two days but when we checked in we were told that our confirmed place had been cancelled and given to someone else. No payment had been received. After a lengthy discussion we were allocated a place for one night, then we would have to leave again. The booking system seems to be completely impractical and not suitable for last-minute bookings. What a pity!
In general, a very nice facility, even if the sanitary facilities urgently need to be renovated. The shower heads are an imposition and there was no hot water either.

In secure area. Aircon and WiFi, subject to power cuts. Secure parking inside compound for one Land Rover sized vehicle. Rooms only in Niera. 25000 for VIP room, but a perfectly good room with aircon and ensure is 12500.

Massive parking for trucks. The whole space was full of them.
Therefore we recommend not to park in the back of the YPF, you will disturb them and they need the space. The YPF has a costumer parking on the left. You will fit in with a sprinter or similar.

We stayed here with 4 other campers. It’s busy and loud.

Showers are only for truck drivers. But men’s can just walk in. For the female showers you need a personal document in exchange of the keys. With a little luck you will get it.

Beautifully located on the shores of Lake Victoria. The road there is pretty good, especially while it's rainy season now. Make sure to look out for the signs, which are old and not obvious. If you follow googlemaps: the first sign from the main road is is few kilometres more south, towards the western gate of the Serengeti. We could pick any place we wanted. There is the possibility to make use of the toilet / warm shower in one of the cabins. The cabin we used was not in great shape but very nice to use. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Camp spots with beautiful view over the lake and sunset and nicely shaded under the trees. We saw some hippo footsteps but didn't see any, and felt safe while we sat right on the shore. well recommended.

Nyatwali Beach Lodge Campsite -2.15840, 33.83332

The most beautiful spot under cherry blossoms! Park at the end for views of the mountains and a frame of Sakura’s. Follow the road up past the parking area with the bathroom. Also, has cute lookout tower. Had no problem sleeping there for a night, another local was in a pop up camper as well.

Toshigeyama Park 33.93896, 133.31964

Nice spot to sleep in your car. It's far enough from the highway, so it's quiet. Outdoor bathroom next to the KFC. Could probably stay multiple nights without any fuss. I stayed two.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Rocky Top, TN 36.23140, -84.16097

Very nice spot to spend the night. It is a bit away from the road but not really hidden. We heard no cars at night. You can reach the river for water.

Open water tap near the water fountain (which was closed), at a reasonable height from the ground so possible to fill up big jugs or tanks. The visitor centre and its toilets were closed too though.

Guatemala easy
Mexico immigration no problem to get 180 days, only prerequisite was to pay with creditcard and a bit of story what we all want to see in Mexico 717MXN pp
90MXN for fumigation (sprinter van)
fruit control as described
Mexico aduana was a bit harder to get the 10 year TIP. although my paper in German says Wohnwagen = motorhome, unfortunately on offline google translates it as a caravan, which she first refused to accept as casa rodante or motorhome. There is no internet for better translation. luckily in the end she agreed for my Sprinter to give me the 10 year TIP. 55US$

Great view of the city. The south side is especially amazing, you can see how big (long) Quito is from north to south. The only downside is that it is not safe to walk up to the top. Many locals warned me about frequent robbery in the area. Taking a bus or a taxi / Uber is recommended.

El Panecillo view point -0.22937, -78.51832

I travel alone and sleeped here. Felt safe. Nosy some times. Got a cold shower for 30 pesos. Restrooms free. Wake up in the middle of the night with many cars from national guard around, so felt more safer... Did not want to drive at night at this carretera.
