Flat camping beside a lagoon. We saw rabbits as we drove in around 930pm. Stayed for one night on the way to Texas.

NO DUMP. There is propane.
Two threaded spigots here: one on each side of gas Island on the side closest to the convenience store. Tight quarters; trailer/ toad NOT recommended. I filled my 24' RV tank. they are not labeled "potable" - but unlike most Love's, they're not labeled "unsafe for drinking" or "non-potable." br advised this is a very busy place; have your hose ready to go when you arrive because you will be blocking customers when you fill.

no water or dump at Pilot across the street.

Had the lebanese breakfast there. They have real coffee (no Nescafe) and fresh fruit juices. Very clean place!

As the last negative comment about hassles is from 2019, I would love to change the Icon to „tourist attraction“, but the App crashes.

There is an entry fee of 20 cedis per person, but it’s not worth it. You get a guide who walks around the building with you and tells you some stories that are hard to believe, but are not allowed to enter the mosque, because you are a „non-believer“. Found that wording a bit rude.
If you haven’t seen a sudanese style architecture from outside, it’s a nice stop. If that style of mosque is not new to you, be warned that it’s really tiny.
Guide expected a tip and a donation for „community school“ what felt a bit pushy, but we got away with smiling us out of the situation.

The drive here is long but very interesting scenery. There were a couple of pick up trucks when we got here but the parking lot is huge and flat. Getting in here one has to go over a narrow concrete bridge but once here there's plenty of room for anything you can bring. Very quiet night. The fishermen started coming in at around 6am . Also, the mosquitos come out once the wind dies down, so be prepared!

200 pula to sleep in one of the pre-set tents (incl. private toilet and shower). The place is run down and dirty, but probably as cheap as it can get in Maun. It is really not a nice place: trash lying around, floor of my tent was sticky of spilled beer, etc. There is no such thing as a "backpackers vibe". Owner Shei is super friendly though! And I think if you stay in your own tent, maybe close to the river, it can be decent. Parking possible. Wifi works well.

I was able to change my oil at the Meca Motos workshop on my Dominar 250. They provide mechanical and electrical service for motorcycles. They do not sell spare parts, you must buy it or bring it.
You can sleep here with your motorbike:)

Great Boondocking! Flat pull offs with fire rings. Watch for red flag fire warnings. Venturing too far back the road leads to a disappointing area where people dump their trash. Otherwise, excellent!

Incredible spot right off a pavement road. I came after it rained and while there puddle/mud areas I wouldn’t drive, there was plenty of gravel/dirt that I could. There is a bit of a drop off from the road to the dirt but shouldn’t be a concern unless you have a low vehicle (I have a Honda hrv so regular clearance and was fine). Pitch black at night. Gorgeous stars. Amazing sunrise. 360 views. And quiet! Highly recommend.

Located near the City of Rocks National Reserve Visitor Center, this RV Dump Station is FREE for those staying at the Smoky Mountain State Park Campground. If you are staying at the City of Rocks Campground, they ask that you pay the State Park entrance fee of $7. This can be paid at the Visitor Center or you will pass the entrance kiosk where yellow drop off envelopes are available if the Visitor Center is closed.

Get a permit - number one

Consider not going unless the park ensures you it has been fixed

A shower turned into a flash flood 3/31/2024 and wiped the road out - a shower!

Roughest road we’ve ever taken our Sprinter on - we made it to H3 and it was abandoned and we stayed

Wish us luck on the trail down - they only attempted the fix on the first mile or less so far.

Spent a peaceful night here. Cars (taxi vans) passed until about 6pm then absolute silence. Although the baboons came to check in around 11. Absolutely gorgeous. Pretty windy in the am.

Great place to stay in Santa Rosa. Parking on a secure level gravel lot, shaded if you are not higher than 2.50m. Suitable for Vans up to 3m height, due to the entrance gate. Quiet at night but a lot of traffic noise and barking dogs during the day.
Adolf is currently not living onsite, but he gave us the keys to his empty house, so that we could use the bathroom inside.
Lots of shopping options nearby, only a short walk into town.
Adolf is such a kind person and really helpful. Do not hesitate to contact him.

Exactly as described, we walked around the park. Really beautiful sunset. No one bothered us at all except for the bugs which there were a ton of and we were eaten alive. There was also a decent amount of activity. Some fisherman came around 9 ish and later around 1am a group of people cane buy played some music. So overall a really nice place to sleep if you don't mind bugs and some noise.

Stayed a night here, pretty quiet. Not very busy but people do drive in and out of course. Train and barge noise but nothing crazy loud. Police did patrol a couple times. No one stopped to discourage us from staying there. Signs from 2001 posted saying no camping, but no one seemed to care.

Couldn’t make it to this spot due to large mud holes in the road(keep an eye on the rain before visiting), but pulled off a half mile before. super beautiful a little bit of road noise and very convenient for the park in the morning.
