This beautiful spot is open again. We got the last spot at 6pm so try to get there earlier. We had a soak at Jemez Hot Springs and a great pizza at the brew house. With senior pass it was $2.50

Fabulous modern public library with tons of places to sit and charge things. They have very fast wifi, bookstore upstairs, clean bathrooms and water fountains. Even some awesome outdoor seating. Can get a bit busy in the parking lot but I just parked on side street between the library and the fire station. All around a great place to hang out for the day!

stayed here for one night. local people welcomed us and told us that it's super tranquilo here. However, our night was not really good here not due to vandalism or theft. no, there were a lot of f*** mosquitos around, although it's still super dry season. but this beautiful salina gave the logical answer...

As others have pointed out, the turn-off is maybe 100 meters east down Hwy 17 from the entrance to the official rest stop.

Nice little spot on the beach. Space for a few vans or tents, might be a bit of a tight turnaround for an RV? You can hear the highway but there isn’t too much traffic at night.

Other reviews weren’t kidding about the mess. There was loads of trash scattered on the ground when I arrived. Took 20 minutes and picked it all up—let’s keep spots like this in good shape, so they stay available, eh? :)

Asked at Customer Service desk, yes to overnight. Park on Garden side, all the way out away from the store. She asked for vehicle description and she will give it to the overnight manager. I don’t know if that is required, but it seemed like it could save us from “ a knock”?

Lovely campsite with great hot shower and very clean bathroom. The outside kitchen is handy and also good to have access to washing machine.

- Price Campingcar: 150'000 CFA
(Height and length of the car does not affect the price. We even spoke to the boss because our van is barely bigger than a "normal" car, for which you pay 63,000 CFA.)

- No gas bottles allowed! we had to take the bottle out and had someone transport it overland to Dakar in a car. Price per gas bottle: 5000 CFA
Nobody searched our car, so maybe you could just say you don't have any gas bottles in there.

- We bought the tickets (including a cabin for two) a week in advance at the port of Ziguinchor.

- The ferry is in good condition. The cabin (including private toilet, shower, window) is comfortable. Restaurant is OK. Breakfast is included when you book a cabin.

- We didn't ask for maximum height and lenght for vehicels.  Our car is 4.8m long and 2.6m high.

- The trip is very relaxing and beautiful. We were able to see some dolphins. All in all a very expensive but good experience.

Saúl and Leidy - Tours Ceilo Azul have been amazing. We reached out to the for recommendations for long term vehicle storage. They amazingly organised parking in their residential car park.
They have promptly answered our plethora of questions in preparation for crossing the border.

We stayed here for 5 nights. It’s convenient to Flagstaff and Sedona. It’s pretty quiet and lots of ponderosa pines. There are multiple sites as you head up the mountain, some more level than others. These camping spots are a favorite with the locals so the road tends to be fairly busy. But it’s a great option for free when the campgrounds closer to Sedona are full.

Here is the place where you can take the boat to Brazzaville. Ask the people for the exact place because there are lots of boats and places and ot changes depending on water level. The boat leaves every two weeks on Saturday at 15.00h but arrives on Tuesday. You can get a simple cabin (you need your matress / mosquito net) for 10.000 XAF and the ticket is 8.000 XAF. You must pay 500 XAF for port fee. No charge for bike and you can stay in your cabin / boat since you get there.
The guy in charge of the cabins is Atoule (+242069482314).

This place is the ultimate gem. If you want to escape hussle of the city, it is peaceful, safe, surrounded by great hikes (slot canyon, cave, waterfall). It can get busy on the weekends. Rate ranges from 100MX (weekday) to 150MX (weekend) per vehicle. If you can, bring over something for local village dogs, they are extremely friendly with people and other dogs.

Have camped here a couple of times over the last month as it seems to be the cheapest place in Maun to camp (146pp pn). Ablutions are good, showers are hot, we've camped there when it's been quiet and when it's had a few overland trucks around and it seems to have enough space to camp comfortably. The WiFi is fast and the staff are friendly. Feels secure with an electric fence and floodlights around camp. We would stay there again.

go trough the gate and pass the small roundabout. then you see on your right the " Guyana Tourism Authority" but drive away from it because it is one way traffic. in that building they send us to the an other office at the end of the street where we registered. very friendly people. We can park on a big green with a kind of seperated rooms with a sink (water and electricity). Toilets are near the first building. no shower and no costs. there are all small companies on this compound so till 5 business as useall. 4 km to town, easy walk or take minibus 48 left from the entrance.

Clean, occasionally monitored place, good for an overnight stop. But you can hear the street noise. The facilities (pool, sanitary facilities, playground, dining area) have seen better days. Unfortunately, the river has dried up.
What is absolutely unacceptable: two Dobermans are tied to trees with short leashes and have to stay there day and night. Living alarm systems with no room to move! This is simply animal cruelty. Cost: 200 pesos/night for a big rig with two adults and two children.
