Description

Very quiet night, beautiful river, we could drive the van to the river but it wouldn't be respectful for locals. Can fit a few vans and 1-2 big rigs. Few fishermen in the morning but we don’t seem to bother them. Perfect spot for a stop on Highway3.

Also, the cell service is not half bad. 5g/3-bars.

Fantastic spot.

Sadly, we're in the middle of smoke and fire because this would be a lovely spot to have a campfire and drink some wine. Guess we'll just settle for the wine!

Very accessible. We're in a 2wd Ranger and hauling a heavy 12ft trailer, and it's fine. Clear from branches. However, we're parked on the far left, and the last person who was here left a bunch of dog sh¡t on the beach. Pick up after your pup.

The view is great, even with a smokey sun and mountains. River is clean and gradually deep. Great for pups learning to be comfortable with the water.

access from hwy 3! just opposite from the rest area. nice quiet place. unfortunately it was quite busy when we came. throw we didn't stay.
attention motorhomes: the northern entrance has a big dip in the road. the southern is fine.

Nice place and very quiet.
For some reasons my navigation app Navmii tried to sent me to the other side if the river via a long dirt road...but this place is just 400m away from the highway, access is via a good gravel road.

Pretty spot for one night. A few boats and people fishing, some others seemed to be hanging out for some of the day but we were the only ones overnight. Long enough pebble beach that everyone there had their own space. River runs fast but safe enough around the edges to get knee-deep. Pre-existing fire pit we used at the far left of the beach. We saw a baby bear going down for a drink on the other side of the river. Very sunny, put out your awning or sun shelter.

Stayed here for 1 night, very nice, quiet spot. We have a class c motorhome and could drive down to the river, take the left path. There was no one else there. Some people coming to walk their dogs and soms fisherman dropping their boat in the water. Nobody was bothered we were there. There were 2 or 3 fire rings down at the river. You could also stay at the parking.

Beautiful spot right on the river, if you don’t want to venture to the river, the gravel pit is also available, as campers were parked there. We manage our fifth wheel down by the river, just use the first path in, the second is tighter and rough. We are staying another night. Don’t block the trail to the water, guides use it to launch and pick up their river boats.

Perfect little spot along the river. Very nice and quiet. Parking on the beach is easy. the road on the left side is nicer.

Nice spot, camp direct on the large river bed, many fire pit, hard pack 2wd easy. Cell reception with Telus.

Beautiful spot especially when the sun is out! Heard no noise from the highway just the occasional train horn.

Good spot 18km from Fernie Downtown, 16km from Fernie Visitor center which has toilets and wifi. There is a rest area with pit toilets on the other side of the road when you drive back to the highway and another one when you drive about 2km towards Fernie. The camp spot itself isn't very special but quiet and hidden from the highway. You could even drive trough the trees and camp on gravel right next to the river if you'd like. Not too many mosquitos. We spent two nights there and were the only ones.

Report Check-In

Far enough off the highway that the noise isn’t an issue. Certainly a good place to stop for the night, close to Fernie.

Quiet place
You can hear the cars and train, but it's fine

Nice spot. A couple of very small pot holes in the road, we got our 2wd minivan in here no problem.

We arrived at 10:20 PM. There was an RV onsite already. Lots of room for our Jeep and little trailer.
No river view, just a dirt flat area.
A fair amount of road noise and train noise. Train horns quite regularly.

Good for a quick overnight.
