Say that this place was closed but it wasn't. It was open. There is somewhat of a barricade, but with a small enough vehicle you can go through. I got through with my 4Runner with a few inches to spare on each side. There were no signs anywhere saying not to enter or that it is closed or that its private property.
The open area is a bit of a mess, garbage everywhere. But, if you have a 4wd and decent clearance, you can make it up the little hill and park in the forest. There is a fire ring. Space enough for one and no garbage around unlike at the bottom.
Report Check-InRode in here on an adventure motorcycle. The barrier is wide enough for a narrow vehicle; the road back to the site is rocky with one short steep hill.
Not a bad place to park for the night, though tent camping is a bit of a challenge as the ground is quite lumpy and rocky. I did find a spot in the corner that was flat enough for my tent.
You'll probably be the only one here. There's a lot of trash. Road noise from the highway, though it's not so loud as to be a bother. Ocean view is a short hike away.
Report Check-InWhat a great spot. Yes, you have to climb a steep short hill and there is some rubbish but it is really worth it. After the hill, right on your left the ground is leveled and soft, great for a night.
Report Check-InBig parking with overnights allowed, you simply need to right your information on the paper at the gate and drop the paper in a box. Noise from boats setting up early in the morning, but there is all you need here.- the guys did not give us the right information, 35$ as an exception to spend the night
Report Check-InThe end of Porteau Cove Rd. is blocked to motor vehicles but accessible on foot or bicycle. Beyond the barricade, a rough rocky road leads to several options. Keep heading uphill for better privacy and less highway noise. Some firepits, a lot of trash, including appliances, scrap vehicles, and the usual camper trash.
