Description

It is a public campground (free!) and picnic area of the community, located at the eastern edge of the village at the foot of the hill, only minutes from the ferry terminal. About 7 grass sites along a paved road, generously spaced, with picnic tables, some with fire rings; plenty of garbage cans, 1 pit toilet, 1 water faucet (non-potable) next to the entry sign. Turnaround space at end of road might be tight for very big rigs.

on a finalement dormi au ferry pour un départ tôt mais la place est vraiment super, beaux sites, bel emplacement, à noter toutefois que l'eau n'était pas disponible à cette date, on a rempli à la station de vidange

Good shelter from the very strong SW wind. A good place to spend the night waiting for the ferry.

We camped here with good shelter from the very strong SW winds. Good space for our 24ft motorhome. Good place to spend the night waiting for the ferry in the morning.

We chose the first spot closest to the main highway - nice view of the ocean in between the houses that line the highway. Fairly level spot (we didn't need levellers). The park is really well maintained and has lots of playground equipment, potted flowers, and benches. Garbage can at each site and fire pits at some. Even some tent platforms. Awesome place to stay for a donation.

stayed one night here, unfortunately the water is broken and getting water was an issue we were able to get water from tge gas station by filling a bucket and pumping it into our camper.

Beautiful park which is well cared for by the locals. We got in late with a fifth wheel and were able to find a nice site. I wouldn't advise large class A's here unless dry. Larger rigs may have a problem on the wet grass without 4 wheel drive. The water spigot is NOT working but the dump is.

We were looking for a place to stay near the ferry. This is a very pretty, small (9 site) town CG less than 3k from the ferry. The site were more than half used when we arrived on a weeknight in early July. The sites are paved or gravel or grass and most need some leveling. Most are surrounded by green shrubbery for privacy. There're a trash can, picnic table and fire ring at each site, no services. There's a pit toilet in the center of the sites. There's a dump station and water (unclear if potable) near the entrance. There's a good ATT signal while roaming on Bell and a good Verizon signal while roaming on Telus. The site is free and there's a donation container in the shed near the entrance. There's fuel and 2 grocery stores in town. There's a visitor center near the ferry and a hike to Mont Parent.

What a great place!! In a very well park, 9 RV sites, most with picnic table, seat and garbage cans and also games for children. Thank you very much to the city of Blanc Sablon for this place for travelers.
The place being free, a participation in the box in the cabin at the entrance is welcome to continue to enjoy this place.

A camping site every one should know about! Very clean and quiet.
There is a small garden shed at the entrance where you can leave a note and a small donation to your prefence.

Boat to NL canceled today, found this place sheltered from strong winds from indications at Blanc Sablon city hall.

Nothing to add, place is perfect. Empty when we came in, some 10 spots available

Lovely place checked in here yesterday. While we wait for the weather to change, the ice to clear and we can get on the ferry. We soon realized that us and our vanagon had become a source of entertainment as everyone in the village took turns to drive past us and stare. They could at least have stopped and talked to us

Beautiful camp-site just minute's from the ferry.

Very beautiful camping site with no service. Wood structure to mount the tent and bushes to minimise the wind! Very friendly volunteer owner. Please read their story, it is very inspiring!!

What a beautiful place. There are about a dozen sites (maybe more) that are tended by a nice woman with help from her Dad. The site is an area that was destroyed by an avalanche in 1995 and this is her efforts to memorialize those who lived here and a couple that lost their lives. Highly recommended and only a couple of minutes from the ferry.

Great FREE campsite. Porta potty and non potable water. Campsites have 2. haors and a fire ring. Neatly mowed and a hanging flower pot and birdhouse adorn the entrance to site. a class b or c will fit on one of the many flat sites. there are wooden bases built to keep tents off the ground. coffee shop and store just around the corner. convenient to the Nl ferry. very much enjoyed this place

As described. Still very nice place to stay with spacious spots for bigger rigs as well. One pit toilet, was ok.
Still Free!

Free and less than 5 minutes away from the ferry. Very convenient! It’s very well maintained, with toys everywhere for the kids. Read the sign at the entrance that explain why they built this free campground if you are curious.

wow! très bel emplacement! vaut le détour! très propre et à garder propre.

Report Check-In

What an amazing camping ground! More than 10 places for tents, campers or VR with for some of them fire place, Adirondack chairs... a lot of games for kids, 1 toilet... the owner bring us woods! So nice. No excuse to take care of this area!

On a foggy night, it is easy to find. They have little lights on poles on the side of the road. Nice and quiet. A little road noise, but can hear the ocean. Foggy evening turns into foggy morning, and heavy dew. But slept well and it is a nice park. Only a few minutes drive to the ferry terminal. Please keep it clean so many other people can use it.
