The camping ground and marina are closed for the season. However, the marina’s parking lot is still accessible. Numerous hiking trails start from the parking. Locals visit the location to admire the view or walk their dogs.

beauty little spot! like someone else said, if it seems there's no sites go into the middle grassy area and look around. For reference I went at 11:30pm. will definitely come here again!

It's not free anymore, but worth the money. 11$ for tent and 26$ for RV. We are 5 campers tonight.

Can't believe this place is free! Got spot #8 right by the water and the bugs weren't too terrible. There are 10 spots but people kept driving past and leaving bc it looks full, but you just have to drive across what looks low a lawn in the middle of the campground. Grills, picnic tables, shade, 4G Verizon service, pit toilet, kayak launch dock, no power or water. Looking forward to getting a fishing license at the marina.

Beautiful campsite on the water. Beautiful outlook to mirror like water first thing this morning after a quiet night's sleep.
No office fees or check in. Highly recommend this site. Will return on our way
back to BC.

Très beau camping gratuit sur le bord de l’eau. Nous sommes allés début juin et il y avait énormément de moustique, prévoir du chasse moustique! Très calme, accès à un sentier et à des toilettes.

Campground is still here, and free. 10 numbered sites; some permacampers seem to have taken the premiere spots, but#8 was flat with water views. A friendly local explained that it's owned by the county. Beautiful facility. Nearby trails and paths. Dump station locked. Plenty of activity during the daylight, but all respectful. Nice docks and boat ramps. Grateful to have spent one quiet night here.

nice campground with drop toilets and fire rings. no showers or power. may be too early in the season to have to pay since we couldn’t find anywhere to check in and no one said anything to us.

Stayed one night in a tent next to the lake. It was extremely unclear if it was open or we should pay but in the end 4 groups including us camped there and no one asked us for money. Possibly too early for the season.
Overall a beautiful place! You can hear the train crossing the bridge but it’s not too bad.
Some locals said hi in the morning when they came to enjoy their coffee by the water, very friendly!
Please clean up after yourself! There’s lots of garbage bins and toilets available, no need to mess up this beautiful park.

Camping gratuit !
Endroit très sympa après la marina, il y a de nombreux emplacements, des foyers et des bbq. Une toilette sèche est également sur le terrain.
Nous y sommes restés 2 nuits, endroit très agréable.
Nipigon est une ville charmante avec une population très avenante.

FREE! At least this year, changes and improvements are expected possibly next year. Nice sites, right on the river. This is quite possibly the friendliest town in Canada, maybe even North America. We couldn't walk more than half a block without meeting another local, telling about events planned later in the day, hiking trails nearby, or the history of the area. And also: Save 20¢ per liter on gas by buying on the reserve station east of the bridge.

Outhouses we're nice and clean, water an trash bins also available, picnic tables grassy lawn, but privacy between spaces. Lots of historical markers as you walk the small town, which has plenty of shops, a couple restaurants, everything you could need, even "Canada's smallest Canadian Tire". We liked this town and this area so much, we talked about moving here.

Very nice place, free, spots are all over the grass field. 1 pit toilet, very clean. Same spots have table and fire pit, but no wood. Nice view on the river.. Thanks for letting us stay here for free! More city's should do that.

Free campground for this year. sounds like city is passing it over to provincial parks. So only 1 bathroom. 1 dump station and garbage. some sites have fire pits beautiful lake.

We sleep here last night and it was quiet. We have a camper but 2 big RV was here. The view is beautiful and we did a fire !
Just, no shower no bathroom but we really enjoyed our night here.

could only get to the turn around where signs say no parking. road to the end was barricaded with closed signs, likely seasonal as very muddy and wet compared to our visit in November.

We drove through after overnight at the Lookout. Looks like road is plowed so good off-season spot. Nice views. 10k hiking trail from here.

Nous sommes arrivés vers 21h15, l'accueil était fermée. Nous nous sommes installés proche de l'eau, la vue était magnifique. Nous allons dormir comme des bébés !

really beautiful place! Proche de l'accueil il y a des places avec électricité pour les véhicules. C'est un gros stationnement gratuit le jour. Nous avons continué jusqu'au bout. plusieurs espaces de camping avec des tables à pique nique et des fire pit. Une toilette chimique de luxe. Accès à l'eau avec du sable, super agréable pour se baigner. Nous sommes retourné 3 fois à l'accueil avant de voir quelqu'un donc je pense qu'il serait facile de ne pas payer, mais la marina est très bien entretenu, c'est bien de les encourager! 22$pour une place de camping où nous avons parquer notre bus 24pi. Belle trail dans la forêt pour prendre une looongue marche avec le chien (en laisse car il y a des ours). Belles discussions avec le monde du coin qui se rassemble ici le soir. tout le monde est très sympathique! Nuit très calme! Je recommande!

$11/night to tent camp but office closes at 8pm so I parked without registering. Really nice view of the lake and bridge, very quiet. Washrooms available but got locked at night

It's not completely free! 30$/night We couldn't check in at 8pm.. Locals told us that it's possible to use the picnic tables directly on the sea, for free.
