Umatilla River near Pendleton (Nolin, OR). Scenic spot for one night along the Umatilla River. There is a railroad track 400 yards away and 8-10 trains are passing by at night.

My maps took me down a dirt road to somewhere nowhere near the spot (no dirt road necessary!), so just double check as it kept trying to reroute me back to that spot. No reception (T-mobile), and I heard about 4 trains throughout the night, but it didn’t bother me as it’s not super close. Parked my 30 foot skoolie with no issues. Even with the correct route, it’s a winding narrow road and probably not worth the detour imho. But was fine for a night.
Report Check-InStayed one night. There was a big livestock truck parked here but still enough space to park and pitch a tent. Very little road traffic overnight; however a number of trains passed by so if you are sensitive to noise (like me) this may not be the best spot.
Report Check-InBeautiful sunset, but quite windy. Not entirely flat, but it was good enough. The cows weren't too loud and I never had a train pass by. A handful of local trucks, but no one stopped. There for 1 night.
Report Check-InOverlook of farms and a river with enough space for two or three vehicles with no cell service
Report Check-InDecent semi level spot overlooking the River. Would be a nice place to hole up for a few days and do some fishing. Nice view! Very quiet. Only 1 car passed all night.
Report Check-InStayed the night here in my van on a road trip. Beautiful technicolor sunrise over the hills. The river churns below the - we washed our dishes after breakfast there. It was peaceful except for the murderous screams of cows all night. God I have no idea what they were doing to them but I have never heard anything like it. Easy, decent spot overall, would stay again.
Report Check-InHigh up on bluff off of narrow, winding road. No access to river. Quiet farmland. Barely fit my 23 foot Class C towing small car (total length approx 30 ft ). Fairly smooth parking area but not level. Should be okay for one night.
