Something not right?

Description

Looks like an old forest service quarry or construction staging site. No activity recently it appears. Big area of forest cleared with several private places to park RVs/vans. The hill getting in is a bit steep so wouldn’t recommend for anything over 25 ft probably. A bit of traffic noise from hwy 20 but tons of room.

GPS coordinates brought us to a trailhead. We followed another user’s directions: headed north on 20 it’s directly following the mile marker 153, on the left side. Had no problem getting in - stayed in a wooded site on the other side of the pit. Was rather uneven but worked for us! Two other people there.

Report Check-In

all these descriptions belong to the spot a little further, close to mile marker 153. This spot is actual at Easy Pass trailhead.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot before the North Cascade park. Lots of place. Bit noisy at first but not too bad at night. Best spot is up the little dirt hill… view on the mountains. We did “the easy pass” trail in the morning and we had the best view from up there (16km back and forth for the pass and the view of the other side). This trail really close to this place.

Report Check-In

A little steep, but very easy. Completely deserted (Friday evening arrival).

There are large areas for big rigs and small secluded areas for cars in the woods with fire rings.

2 cars came by overnight, but area is so big everyone kept their distance.

The cicadas were very noisy however haha

Report Check-In

Convenient spot for visiting some of the NF trails in the area. The large area at the top is great for solar and/or Starlink while the spots around the loop are best for shade & privacy. Had no issues reaching the top in my FWD Promaster. No TMobile.

Report Check-In

Good place to spend a night. A few other vans were here but plenty of space. Good starlink reception.

Report Check-In

Make sure to drive up the little hill, the best place is up there. Quiet at night, clean, good place for one night.

Report Check-In

Great spot with room for multiple groups. Very close to the park and trails.

Burn ban in effect. No fires!!

Report Check-In

Good spot for the night before visiting North cascades. Nothing fancy, but there are probably 5ish solid spots

Report Check-In

Stayed a whole week with no complaints. Campers and tents came and went. Great spot for Starlink. Pulled our 24ft travel trailer up to the top with no issues. May need 4wd if you drive up when it has rained though. Great views, barely hear the cars at night. Buggy though. Very close to many popular trails.

Report Check-In

Nice place, as described.

One other Camper but there are a lot of available spots

Report Check-In

we spent two night here, it's quiet, nice view on the montains

Report Check-In

beautiful quiet spot, down past lower gravel spot. there was a front end lower parked in lower spot and we were woken up by them at work with "backing up beeps" all good though. drove right out.

Report Check-In

Good spot for a night. the highway wasn't too loud and if anyone else came in, I couldn't hear or see them from my spot behind the hill of rocks to the right of the entrance

Report Check-In

great spot. worked well for the night! lots of space for all sized rigs.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night. The road noise was not to bad after 9:00 pm. We only had one family in a van near us so overall a quiet spot.

Report Check-In

Nice spot for the night, seems to be one of the only spots in the area you can free camp. Lots of hwy noise but it’s tucked where you can’t actually see the hwy. we choice the spot furthest west, was the most tucked and private. Didn’t notice anybody else here but that doesn’t say there wasn’t. Lots of different established fire rings and lots of space for multiple rigs. Any car can manage but probably wouldn’t drag anything in that’s too large. No reception for either AT&T or Verizon

Report Check-In

We got here at 7pm on Friday 7/22 and no one else was around. One camper arrived around 8pm and parked down below in a spot. 2 more campers together showed up at 10pm and camped near us on the hill: but they were gone by 7am. Very quiet and level

Report Check-In

looks like a bunch of flat spots. would not want to be here in rain. no cellular service. starlink works great.

Report Check-In

3 sites around the lower loop drive and one large area on top of the sand pile for another 3 vehicles. No amenities, just dirt/sand but views of 6 different peaks from the site up top. If you are tracking toward the GPS coordinates on the map, the turn in is on the left AFTER you pass the coordinates if going from Diablo to Washington Pass N to S

Report Check-In

Stayed one night. Easy pull through spots. Plenty of space for multiple large rigs. A few other car campers were here when we arrived. Lots of giant piles of gravel and large boulders on the perimeter (appears to be a construction staging area). No cell service. Gorgeous views above the tree line.

Report Check-In

This place is wonderful. There are a few pull out spots with fire pits and were probably 3 or 4 other groups there.

Report Check-In

Ranger told us that there is no dispersed camping allowed within the National Scenic Corridor.
So this site seems to be no longer available and should be closed.

Report Check-In

A bit bumpy to the exact coordinates but it’s a bit hidden behind a dirt mound, quiet and easy coming out of the cascades for a night

Report Check-In

Unmarked road off Hwy 20. Abandoned rock pile with some pretty spectacular views. Several spots w some privacy up here so even if it were crowded you could find a space, but I didn’t see anyone else on a Friday night. Nice flat spots for a tent or RV.

Report Check-In

Spent a private night here. Great spot, no Verizon service. You can hear cars on the road at night but it’s faint.

Report Check-In

Lots of space for multiple rigs, not a bad drive up. Saw one other tent camper.

Report Check-In

Great spot in a camping desert. One other person on a Monday in August, quiet. plenty of room for many rigs.

Report Check-In

turn is on the north side almost exactly at mile marker 153. steep but i could have gotten in with my prius. on a tuesday night i was the only one here when i arrived at 1845
