Description

Fantastic view, next to a little potable river on a very quiet and safe road. Road is an access road to a hydro powerplant and is therefore not transited. Stayed there - a very quiet night with campfire and had only 2 mountainbikers and one car pass and enjoyed the sunrise view the next morning.

Spot even fits 4-5 big rigs. Access from South is about 4km on very new asphalt and than about 4km on good gravel road. You will go through two gates which seem to be from ICE and seem to be always open. Once you cross the paved river crossing you arrive at the wild camp.

Access from north - we did not try out - but we were told by a local afterwards that 500m north from Miguel's wild camp there is even a better view.

After the night up there go down to Rio Macho for a swim and breakfast.

Latest Check-Ins

There is an other spot under trees just 200 m. Further. Be aware it is to roads to come here from the town the shorter one is very steep, only for 4x4 with low gear.

Report Check-In

It's a nice spot, but it's pretty much on the road, and contrary to what the first poster said, there was a bunch of traffic for me, at least a dozen cars (Sunday night to Monday morning). Hundreds of fireflies around though at night.
