We were eastbound and were stopped here and asked "to register" and given a chit to hand in at the military checkpoint in 2km.
Before that one, in only 500m, there's a police checkpoint where they wanted to see our documents again. In both cases they asked for licence and TIP.
Then there was another in 18 km at San Bartolo; again we had to register but no chit to hand in elsewhere.
And yet another similar one at Ascension de la Frontera...

Report Check-InUnlike the checkpoint to the east which only handed us a bit of paper to hand over, this point was a bit difficult. The teenager in charge wasn’t satisfied with the information we gave and wanted passports in addition to the TIP. Took probably 15 minutes as he didn’t seem to understand some of our answers.
