Description

3 campgrounds here:
(1) Rocky Point Campground (with power)
(2) Juniper Park Campground (no power/water/sewer)
(3) Los Tanos Campground (Primative - tent only?)

Lovely park 10 miles north of Santa Rosa NM coordinate, not as shown here: follow the signs off the I 40. Great waterway, clean, has BBQ, showers (cold in cold weather), dump station, elec. I had no signal with AT&T but Verizon was fine. GoTalk's plan was spotty. better service near the electric bathrooms.

Shaded picnic tables. Very wind today. Many trails around.

Report Check-In

Rocky Point campground (one with power) was CLOSED! for the season?? (Not sure why) So we went to the Juniper Park Campground (no power/water/sewer). Basically primitive with covered picnic table and garbage bins ($10 night). Bathrooms were locked “due to cold weather”

Nice campground .was here on a Friday plenty of open spots ..find your spot then sign in 👊🏻😎👍🏻

I tent camped at the primitive/equestrian area. Overall great location. The primitive area only has pit toilets, however I did have access to the flush toilets and showers at the other grounds nearby. $10 deposit in an honor box for the campground I was at, first come first serve area. Poor cell reception, T-mobile, but still had cell service in the primitive area, not in the other areas.

Meh. Pretty but not much to do. Has all the amenities, if that's what you need but wish this place had more natural areas. Trail's are very short and don't bring you anywhere. No T Mobile in Juniper CG. I really wish I Overlander would do a better rating system like Freecampsites does. I've been disappointed more than I have not. All in all a beautiful place for RVers but if you are out here to get out here it's not amazing.

Would have stayed but only a onlline reservation place

Stayed in Loop A, site 7, which is a pull-thru space and has electric. There is a hydrant/spigot at the road. The spot is fairly level, requiring a board under one wheel. Electric was steady @ 121v with adequate amperage to run a small heater. The pedestal had 15A and 30A receptacles.
We did speed tests with our phones.
Verizon was 32mbps down, 1.10mbps up, and I was able to surf the internet
AT&T was 67mbps down, 1.67mbps up, and we could watch videos.
The bathrooms were clean, heated and included free showers with warm water. The last time we stayed, the bathrooms were not very clean, and the flush water at the RV dump was not functioning. We did not attempt to use it this trip.
Make reservations online-$14 plus $4 reservations fee at Reserve America.

Quiet and beautiful. Arrived at 7:40pm on Thursday and there was only 2 other campers.

Beautiful state park on the Santa Rosa lake just outside of the cute little town of Santa Rosa. Many campsites some with electricity most without. several trails and many other amenities, sick as fishing and a boat ramp. $10/night

Great RV camping spot with showers and flush toilets.

Report Check-In

Beautiful area. First camping area on the right is for tents/equestrian, though some campers just parked at the dead end circle and called it a night. Potable water still running in this area.

We drove further up and found primitive camping on the right down by the lake, have to go past day use sites and up a dirt hill. No service here but also no one else around and quiet.

If you go straight signs listed campsites with power.

Report Check-In

Small area for dispersed - more for tents but potable water and dump station included in day use fee or camping fee. I took a hike on the shoreline trail and got water and dumped. Worth the $5

Arrived at dusk. great campsites. few people, beautiful park. On our way to San Diego. Couldn't have a better last minute find!

Report Check-In

Primitive area is really small, probably designed for tents, but since nobody was here, popped up the truck camper for the night. Nice and secluded, quiet, easy to get to.

Easy hikes, great view of stars. January was COLD SHOWERS. I was warned by the host, her advice was to wait until mid-day to shower. Safe and quiet place to stay.

Report Check-In

Scrubby, scenic lake overlook, clean sites but few hookups. Inundated with ants so much that we couldn’t sit at the picnic table and put our feet in the ground. No generator sign not enforced and neighbor ran his constantly.
