Description

This is where you get your entry voucher to go down the road to the lake to see the macaws gather at sunset. You must pay 25 pp and if you want to camp in the parking area, it's another 20 but not sure if that's pp. We saw at least 15 pairs of the blue/gold macaws at sunset. Many egrets. Very cool looking lake with palm trees growing in it; macaws love the toppled off palms.

As far as we understand, you can buy vouchers for all the touristic attractions at any agency in town. They seem to have the same price, but they offer different timeslots. You can easily schedule 2 or 3 activities in one day, each lasts about an hour and you may need to drive 15-30 km or so to get to there. Lago das Araras however is very close to town, about 1 km.

We contacted a travel agency via +5565996028981 over WhatsApp, they send us a pdf with all activities and prices in advance so we could prepare. We booked with them in their office, but they kind of messed up the entrance times (they didn't schedule any time to drive from one activity to the next). So make sure you double check your timetable. Thankfully the people at the entrance of Serra Azul allowed us to change our entrance time.

We did the waterfall at Sesc Serra Azul, floating at Rio Triste and Lago das Araras on the same day. Bring lunch so you don't have to return to town in between.

Note that there is no cell reception in town, but the agencies can provide you their WiFi.

Nice place to visit, lots of blue macaus, green parrots and other birds! Price is now 30Rs per person and we could overnight in front of the ladies house for free afterwards. Town is tranquilo and relaxed.
