Workshop which Pedro Villota uses. He`s the best mechanic we`ve encountered so far. Really knows his jobs and has numerous years of experience as a mechanic on racing teams (e.g. on Daytona), but sometimes might be too attached to his vision of your car's problem, so don't hesitate to stress your opinion if you have one - he'll work with you.
Last, but not least: his rates might be high. We paid $180 for having valve cover taken off to check position of timing chain, installed new alternator, greased idler pulley bearing and distributor aligned and set properly. Pricey, but then we didn't want a cheap half-wit to mess with our engine.

Pedro found his way to iOverlander with his ripp off sceme I see. One year ago we were there with 3 Overlander cars. We kept on asking Pedro what the price would be fo fixing our things, but didn't get any answer. On the penultimate day he gave us proximate prices. We found them very very high. After the job was finished every price turned to be 33% higher than the proximate prices he gave us the day before. We didn't got a Cortez bill, only a handwritten paper from Pedro. We think this is the sceme: He let you pay him in gold and he pays for you the bill in the office. He plays the nice guy who kows a lot and does nothing. Strange that he doesn't like you to pay him where everybody can see it. Pedro does not do the work, the mecanics from Cortez do. They are as good as every other mecanic. They also make mistakes: Frontwheel lining not good. Destroyed two new offroad tyres. Please go somewhere else. Do your car and your wallet a favour. My friend Mike had motorproblems. They worked for hours and then said to Mike they would like to go to Toyota for special diagnostic. OK Mike said, but first I wanna know the Price. Yes, OK, No problem, Pedro said. Next day we went to Toyota with Pedro. Diagnostic was already done and for Mike $ 100 to pay. Pedro was there, didn't say, didn't do anything.
