As others have said, there are many campsites along the lake, but this one was the easiest to access. (I attempted unsuccessfully to access several other nearby iO spots when I discovered this one.)
There are lots of nice lakeshore sites here and many more tucked into the trees, all with great lake views, pit toilets and fire rings. Road in is a bit steep but better than others I’ve tried on this lake.

It‘s officially not free anymore.
There are three of these campgrounds along Abraham lake which I found are all very good accessible.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice place to stop for the weekend. Water was low but there was no smoke. Need a public lands camping pass - easy to get on line.
Bathrooms were pit toilets but were clean and stocked.
Suitable for everything from tents to busses.
Report Check-InStayed one night. Good spot in perfect condition. There‘s only a little note on the information board about the fee. You can book that online. As mentioned below 20$ for 3 days or 30$ for a year. But there are additional costs around maybe 10$ for the booking.
Nobody came to check it, but it‘s really out of season now.
Good place to stay, though it can be a bit noisy due to the absence of generator regulations. There's ample space available. While we didn't obtain a pass and faced no penalties, experiences might differ for others.
Report Check-InAmazing location on Abraham lake. Lots of spots with easy access to the lake.
A couple of pit toilets around the campsites.
Apparently a camping pass is required for all free camp spots along the east side of the Rockies now between Banff and Jasper, which is $20 for 3 days or $30 for an annual pass
This place is so rad. Easy access lots of spots and gorgeous. Lots of people camping along this lake, feels safe and lovely.
Report Check-InNice spot with great view of the lake and mountains. Can get very windy. Busy but lots of space. Our ATT got reasonable reception.
Report Check-InVery busy place on the weekend (couldn’t find a campsite till Monday). It can be very windy here, we were able to kayak only 2 days out of 4. Good Rogers cell signal.
Report Check-InLots of nice campsites to choose from. We camped on a very beautiful site next to the lake. Easy accessible with RV or campers. Next to “Allstone Lake Trail”
Report Check-InLarge open area to park larger rigs with fire pits. Also campsites in trees away from water. There is also a boat ramp here. Bell cell phone gets an ok signal. 2 pit toilets.
