Twin lakes dispersed spot jejeuhfbbwhehehehhehe

Lovely spot if looking to get away from the twin lakes crowd. We came Fourth of July weekend to originally stay right on the twin lakes. However it was wayyyyyy to crowded for our liking so went up to mountain to camp next to the Forebay. A very quiet secluded location perfect for rent camping and fishing. 10/10 recommend the last camping spot next to the water as the views of the mountains over the water was breathtaking. I was able to make it up super slowly in my 2wd van just had to be very careful.
😊
Please keep an eye out at the forebay for a Tarzan memorial stone below the fishing signs.

Loved it here! One of our all time favorite spots. Verizon cell service was pretty bad.

Public dirt road. Drive 1/2 mile- 1mile up the road passing private property. There is a lot of space up here. Leveled spots. Please be respectful of private property and pick up after yourself

Enough room for everyone, dispersed camping near Twin Lakes and the Elbert Forebay which is full of fish. Large mackinaw trout. Pack it out, watch your fires if you build one regardless of the no campfire signs. It us windy here.

Awesome views overlooking the lake. My small ford focus was able to trek to our spot (with shade!) so no 4x4 needed. There are plenty of dispersed camping spots along 82, just search for designated firepits. Beautiful trails and peaceful environment.
My only con about camping here is that you need to pay a $8 fee to go down to the lake. I'm unsure if swimming is allowed, maybe in certain areas, but it seems very boating and fishing friendly.

Wooded and open parking. Well used. San Isabel NF.

Several wild camping spots with great views of mountains, one of Twin Lakes, & water tower. The road is a little rough but we made it with our bus & also another 30ft RV. The chipmunks, prairie dogs, & birds are fun to watch in the morning. Good cell signal.

there's a million spots to park. just keep driving around and see which space fits you best. 2rwd cargo van, no issues. many spots with beautiful lake overviews. we parked further down, after you cross the dam, there's a forest area with many fire pits and flat spots, all tucked into trees.
