Beatiful, lonely spot 2 km off Highway 1, above Juniper Beach campground.
If train traffic at Juniper bothers you, and you want no neighboroghs, then this off-the-beaten track campground will enthuse you, like it did for us!
Fire ring and some wood abailable, but no facilities. Beautiful highland desert area in splendid isolation!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We stayed there last night. Very quiet but please people practice LEAVE NO TRACE. There were empty food cans and an empty jar of peanut butter by the fire ring and toilet paper on the ground. If you bring it in bring it out.
We picked up the trash.
Report Check-InNot closed! beautiful spot. easy access. very scenic. was greeted by a group of about 8 assumably wild horses. stayed one night. would definitely recommend
Report Check-InLe chemin est beau jai pris le premier en placement a droit on a une vue sur la route la rivière et le train cest un beau spot pour une nuit
Report Check-InRoad is open until 3,5 km, so we were able to access the camping spot. It is really beautiful, very quiet. There is one spot with some shade from the trees, there are a few other without shade. We saw deer and coyotes!
Report Check-InTwo closed road signs so we left.
No lock or gate at the entrance though so I'm not sure if they just haven't taken down winter signs yet.
Report Check-InPretty nice spot with a lot of space. There's a spot with better views a little earlier but it's closer to the road.
If you're feeling super sendy and have 4x4 + ground clearance you could try to drive up the hill a few meters after this spot, I don't know if it's possible though as everything is really dusty. It's still a nice view and worth the walk up if your vehicle doesn't make it.
Report Check-InGorgeous & peaceful! & a lot more space than I was expecting. An incredible camping spot alone but definitely also worth climbing the hills to get the views.
Report Check-InWild horses, beautiful rolling hills, view of river and railway. Hwy isn’t bothersome. Secluded enough room for multiple vehicles. A couple of sites up the logging road. Can hike up the ridges surrounding. Fire pits. Close to Kamloops
Report Check-InSomeone was already on site, so we decided to continue on the gravel road. There are some other spot along the road, and no one has bothered us, very quiet place!
And we have seen very beautiful wild horses. :D
