Latest Check-Ins

Small lot right off main road, loud enough to require ear plugs but no one bothered me and it’s a good staging area for great hikes further into the national park.

Report Check-In

No "no overnight parking" signs. I was the only car in the lot tonight after 10pm. showed up at 9pm and left at 8am, no issues. could hear the noise of the trucks on the road but not too loud. a couple of early hikers arrived in the morning.

Report Check-In

peaceful night in lockside parking. there was some road noise from the nearby bridge but nothing that bothered us.

the canal parking starts getting bust around 8am with bikers. we walked across bridge to pit toilets and that parking lot is less used but i opted for TH when i saw national park signage by that parking lot.

I can verify the first description is accurate. In a town with not so many great overnight places (just a few hotels) this has been a gem. Quiet & flat. I stayed 2 non-consecutive nights. Weekdays are quiet & weekend mornings are loud (parking lot gets full of early bird trail hikers). There’s a Bathroom across the little bridge you’ll see. 2-3 bars AT&T. No 'no parking' signs.

Stayed two nights in the area. The first night at the Lock 39 Trailhead, and the second at the larger parking lot at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Rockside Station. Both nights we had a few other cars in the parking lot with us around 12am. CVSRRS was closed the night of the 29th, most likely due to the almost flooding of the paved road to the entrance. No dreaded knocks in either lot. Like others on here I prefer the bigger parking lot by the station, because of the pit toilets, less street noise and a well lit parking lot.

Report Check-In

Spent a night here with no problems. There is some light street noise from the nearby restaurant and joggers come here early in the morning. Not sure if this is a totally legit place to overnight, but it worked for us.

Report Check-In

Decent spot. You can hear the grasshoppers, owls, and traffic. A car showed up at like 11:30 and just stayed with their lights on for like a half an hour which was weird. I think the larger parking lot like one of the previous users stated would be a little better. It’s not RIGHT off the busy street but had lights everywhere but is also right next to the bathroom.

Report Check-In

Workable site to park and camp in a van. No overhead lights which is nice. Some road noise noticeable with roof vents open.

Arrived around 10pm and few other cars showed up soon after, apparently for a late-night river swim or hike? Kind of strange. Several more cars already in the lot at 7am the next morning, seems to get a fair amount of use from the run/walk crowd before work.

Report Check-In

The GPS point brings you in a small parking lot of maximum 20 cars which is not really level. I recommend the largest parking (see the photo and follow the red path). It is in this larger parking lot that the toilets are located. The place is still noisy because off the road but OK for one night.

Report Check-In

Just a parking lot that serves as the trailhead for several hikes. Across the bridge is the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Rockside Station which has a bathroom and trash (no water though). It's possible you could park there as well. Works for a night.
