Great spot for camping, as others have described. The road is a little bumpy but definitely doable. We were able to easily get a sprinter van and a Jetta back here.
Report Check-Inthe road in is in great shape and the views are beautiful but I ended up passing on this one cause the spots were suuuuper muddy (I’m in a pretty heavy truck camper with a mud loving dog so just a no for me). The point where the marker is (trailhead) wasn’t too bad but it was essentially just a big group campsite and I don’t really like camping right next to people
Report Check-InReally beautiful camping area! Keep going west after this spot… You’ll come across even better camping areas gorgeous views of the peaks and right on the river.
There are bear warning signs everywhere… But I didn’t see one. :-(
No cell service. There are quite a few camping spots with an open sky and Starlink worked great.
Road is passible for 2WD / regular clearance.
With that said, the campsite that I stayed at was super muddy though, so I engaged 4x4 just to be safe.
Really lovely camp ground with amazing views of the mountains and near a nice stream. There are private campsites at designated sites and a larger circular campground with a bathroom. There are fire pits and a small ranch road nearby. I would highly recommend this spot!
Report Check-InUmm, no longer accessible to the desired location. You can only drive in about a mile. The road has been closed off with a pile of dirt and a closed gate. However, there are two campsites available before you reach the gate. Rock fire pits mark the locations. Unable to access the river without a short jont. The campsite is quite and actually has a pleasant view of the hillside and you can hear the sounds of the river near by.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Went down left fork to mile marker number 4. Spot was marked with site 5. Quite. Had amazing view saw plenty of Elk and one Grizzly in the am. I had 4wd and high clearance but neither were needed even after an overnight snow.
Report Check-InEasy access, across from a mountain and the Gallatin River. Very small. Bring earplugs, next to a busy highways. Also grizzly country.
Report Check-InSites are up Taylor Creek Rd. We set up during a thunderstorm and had a magnificent sunset. There is an outhouse at sites 1 & 2, but someone threw diapers in it. Please don't do that.
Report Check-InWe are further down the FS road than the other Overlanders because there are many people out here but the good news is that the sites are usually several hundred yards apart. We are just about 50 feet from the river and the sound of it will make for great sleeping tonight!
Report Check-InGreat little series of free private campsites along a dirt road off the highway. Ours had a fire pit and bench. Really good spot to tent or RV camp—it’s not super far from Yellowstone’s west entrance, as well as the town of Big Sky—but even in late June it gets cold!! Frost all over our tent this morning
