Perfect spot to spend a night. I arrived at 8pm and there were already a few other Motorhomes. No signs prohibiting overnight parking, unlike all the other ferry parking in town. There is live music in the park in the summer but it was quiet by 9pm. Gas station nearby with toilets, and public toilets about a half mile down the street.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
got there earlier during the day, asked the old woman working the lot if we could park in the lot overnight, she said it cost to park there, and directed us to a public parking lot directly across the main road from the ferry dock parking lot next to the post office, told us we likely wouldn't get bothered there even with popping up our roof nest. We stayed there overnight and werent bothered.. except the traffic sounds and occasional foot traffic of course
Report Check-InNice site. Dock workers start showing up @ 6:30 am and park near the building. Parking on the far end (gravel) next to the community park gets less morning dock lot traffic
Report Check-InGreat spot on a cold windy day, this is ferry dock 1 . No signage for day use and nay, we did see signage at dock 2
Report Check-InSaw a sign that said day parking only, but stayed anyway and was left alone. Lots of cars here look like they've been sitting for a while.
Report Check-InSuch a sweet spot! Right on the water and easy access to town. Perfect place to stay if you are trying to catch a ferry over to Mackinac Island. There are several other very obvious overlanders who spent the night and there were no issues.
