Description
A meadow at the lake shore is the end of the sendero Tapa Rincón which starts at the school in Huancaya. You’ll find it in maps.me but it’s about 1km longer than it appears there (about 3 km to get to the lake). Great picnic spot. Don’t miss this little hike, it’s beautiful!

We did the loop from the viewpoint parking lot, it takes a good hour. The views of the Río Cañete are incredible!
Please note when coming from the North access is free, however if you come from the South there is a gatehouse at the exit of the village of Huancaya where you have to pay 10 SOL per person.
