Description

I saw at least 5 spots with fire ring here and the view is absolutely stunning! When it’s dark you can see Sedona in lights ! Rough trail so 4wd and high clearance recommended! Highly recommended!

Latest Check-Ins

As described by others. Come in from the I-17 side and it will be fine for basically any vehicle. When you get to the overlook, from that point down into Sedona you need high clearance 4X4. Will definitely need high clearance 4x4 to get to the dispersed sites up on 153a on the ridge. We risked taking our 2wd Transit up part-way and scored the best site I've ever had boondocking. Stayed 3 nights.Gorgeous views, sunsets, waking up to see the hot air balloons in the distance over the valley. If you can get here, DO IT.

Once you're close, use road 153A to access the campsites. Not Schnebly Hill Rd. Schnebly Rd is at the base of the cliff (and you MUST have high clearance 4x4 if going westward on Schnebley Rd starting from this point). ... weak but usable AT&T LTE

Report Check-In

The roads into here were closed both ways on 4-5-2022 due to unsafe driving conditions.

Incredible views! Looking eye level with the red rock walls of Sedona! Took about 45 min going west from Sedona with 4x4 high clearance truck. Not for cars for cars or big rigs. Fire pits in the area where you are aloud to camp. Worth the drive.

Not what we were looking for! Whoa, unless ur looking to go off-roading. This is not a place to overnight for cars or inexperienced off road drivers. We had a SUV an made it from the east to west alive and unscathed. Coming from the east is fine but leaving towards the west was awful. Huge rocks and lots of rutted road. If you’re looking just for an overnight spot look elsewhere. If you’re looking to off-road or hike up that’s be fun.

It took us from this campsite heading west
2 hours to get down. From the east highway to this campsite was so much more enjoyable and about 30 mins... if you’re like us and trying to get to Sedona and just have a nice easy overnight this is not it. If you’re looking to off road this is ur spot, and we’ll stay outta ur way!

In the morning there were loads of dune buggies driving up and having lots of fun. So it’s a place for someone! 😁

There are signs that say No Camping for the next 5 miles at the base of the road.
