Great quiet spot! Choice of a view of the Mississippi or a more secluded park setting surrounded by lovely rock formations. Nice fire pits and very clean.

This is called “Old Settlers Overlook” on google maps. The coordinates copied took us 30 mins out of the way somehow but easy to find by googling name above.

Steep road coming up. Our minivan had no issue. There are two pit toilets but they are in pretty gross condition. Lots of picnic benches and charcoal grills, one covered bench. Beautiful view of the river and lots of hiking trails.

Mosquitos are here in September and other small flying bugs. Overall great place for a night!

Very pleasant place to camp. Quiet. During the day there were regular visitors. A total of 3 campers including me. Met the local president of the Lions Club who was there planning for a crew of volunteers to come back and clear undergrowth along the trails to the overlooks.

Report Check-In

stayed on a Saturday night, only one other camper there who also found this spot via this app. it is steep, but paved and well maintained. I'd guess it'd be possible to haul a 20ft camper up, but I'd be wary getting anything larger up there.

Truly great location.
Some trains through the night but not too noisy really.
Felt very safe & secure here and we were able to recycle our garbage.

Stayed the night. Great little spot. No other cars on a Saturday night. I did not even notice the train till the morning. Would setup a tent next time if I came before dark.

Report Check-In

Great spot for the night. 1 bar LTE AT&T service. At sundown there were a lot of little gnats and mosquitos, but they seemed to go away a little after sunset. The road is super steep, but paved like previously mentioned. You won’t need 4 WD when the weather is good, but if it’s snowy and icy, forget about it. We drove our converted 2 WD 350 Ford Transit extended cab up and down with no problem. Even though the road is steep, it is a short distance up so it’s not horrible. Would definitely stay again. Nice and dark and quiet! And great little hiking trails with several other scenic overlooks.

Report Check-In

As described. Great spot for kids or dogs as the camping area has a big grassy field surrounded by rock walls so lots of space to enjoy around. Only downside os it seems like it may be a local make out spot. A few cars came and went after dark.

Report Check-In

Neatly tucked away spot on the Wisconsin side to take in the majesty of the mighty Mississippi. A few short walking trails. #3 is easy with a few western facing overlooks. #2 got my blood pumping - it’s a bit steep but manageable in flip flops - and has the highest, most expansive overlook. Faint highway and train noise. Mostly crickets singing and lightning bugs floating on the breeze.

great place for one night. Arrived @6pm. 3 cars looking at River. Clean and short walking paths. nobody here all night. road up us steep but paved. Not recommended for big rigs or trailers.

Genuinely one of the most beautiful
Places we’ve ever stayed. With an awe inspiring view of the Mississippi, especially at sunset. We stayed one night, we rolled up at dusk and nobody came until the next morning. There are bathrooms, trash and recycling, and some hiking trails. Plenty of parking spaces. Very steep hills to get up, 4wd might be recommended but otherwise this is a truly hidden gem.

The viewpoint and the park area are beautiful! Really nice hikes around the parking area. A police unit drove by at sunset and didn’t say anything about not allowing overnight parking. We had a great night sleep!
