We have stayed one night on the side of the Lakeside Dr. juste beside Nelson airport.
it was very quiet at night. Not many cars and no airplanes.

Great spot for a night or two! Close to stores, no “no camping/overnight parking” signs, and pretty quiet! The whole stretch is several blocks long and there’s tons of space.
Report Check-InI checked before packing here and Nelson parking by-laws allow max. 72 hours parking if there are no other signs restricting parking. A quiet Saturday night, but traffic started up between 6 and 7 a.m. so a weekday would be worse.
Report Check-InIts working perfectly. Tons os car and RV using it, every body using it but no body wants to check in… people don’t want to share this kink of places because they are afraid police came….

Report Check-InSome things you should know before camping there.
Vehicles above 7' high are not allowed to park on the airport side of the road. It's Also a no overnight camping zone.
However, we manage to stay there 3 nights over a week-end with 2 RV. There is a nice dog park on the beach and Nelson is very friendly!
Report Check-InAs described. Side of the road beside the airport. I’m over 7ft in a high roof class b but didn’t get hassled. Couple others similar height at this spot. Lots of people parking here. Gets noisy in the morning but decent to be close to downtown.
Report Check-InParked up here for one night, saw a cop car pull up around 1am, a few vehicles behind, we believe they were by busting people for freedom camping but didn’t stick around to find out. Went to the logging road south of town and worked out good
Report Check-InWould not reccomend. Tried to stay the night but about 1 am was woken but noise and bright headlights, from what I could tell was a cop car. Got into drivers seat and drove away to what looked like the cops knocking on windows ticketing and/or telling people to leave. Ended up staying on a logging road pull out just south of town which was great.
Report Check-InParking along side the single runway airport. Pretty quiet at night and not loud in the morning as planes landing and taking off are only single engine. Quite a few people parked here. Please take your trash as area was quite dirty
