Latest Check-Ins

Came in late (around 9pm) and found a primitive spot with no reservation and pulled in for the night. Primitive spots were mostly sloped/full hookups looked significantly flatter. As expected, we woke up to a courtesy reminder on our windshield for the spot. Fees were pricier than we expected so posting them here for more context. Wish we could have enjoyed the rest of the park for this price! Has botanical gardens, but the rain made that a no-go for us. Highway noise but plenty of spaces (this time of year).

camp ground with a lot of vacant lots (you just need to look at the post in front of a lot to see if it’s been reserved). Met another vanlifer here :)

Great place to fill up water bottles, shower and exercise the dog!

Great county campground. Very clean. Full hook ups or primitive spots. Nice bathroom ( I didn’t try the showers, but FYI they are coin operated). Quiet location. There is some light from the baseball fields but I think they went out overnight. Ranger does come around. We had an issue with paying and he was able to help us out, great customer service and very friendly! Online system requires reservations 48 hours in advance. We found an open spot when we came in late and that was just fine. Highly recommend!

Nice little county campground. We rolled in on a Saturday in March with no reservations and got the last tent spot. Decent grounds but not a ton of open space. Nice views and super close to town and the beach. Stayed 1 night.

3 loops at this campground. Bishop loop has no hookups, and the other 2 are full hookups. No RV dump here but if you're staying in Bishop you could probably sneak over to one of the other loops to use a sewer connection at one of the sites.
Pretty expensive for what you get. Bishop is just a bunch of gravel parking spots with a narrow strip of grass between you and your neighbor. The other two loops have more privacy and space.
There are pay showers and flush toilets.

Nice little place and had availability, thank goodness. COVID-19 and displaced persons from recent California fires is having a toll on campsite availbility. Didn't use showers, but bathrooms looked in fairly good shape. Pull through sites with picnic tables and fire rings, fairly spaced apart from others. We're self-contained, and 20 feet, and so don't need hookups, so it was $28 for us. If coming after hours, check for open sites by lack of reservation slip on campsite numbered posts, If open, go register at the iron ranger near the bathroom and drop your fee in. There's some road traffic, and the sherriff's department across the highway seems intent on frequent target shooting practice, but it quieted down after a while. It's a San Luis Obispo regional park (El Chorro), so reservations can be made online, as well.

Very nice campground for 25$ non-hookup. Firering and water at the place.
