Camping right at the beach. Lovely place with a lot of trees. Very nice owner and family. He is called "Blacky“ and he is rastafari. He can provide you with everything.
There is a kitchen with a cool place for bbq. We just went to the fishermen to buy fresh fish for dinner.
No fixed price for camping. Electricity available.

Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
shady place under trees. Enjoy your meal. Unfortunately a bit loud at night
Report Check-InVery relax place in the shade of the trees. Blacky is very nice and welcoming. Food available on request. 3000cfa for camping (nice place under the trees). Cold beers available at good price. Electricity from 7pm untill around 11pm.
Most recommended!!
Report Check-InSuch a friendly and lovely place as per previous descriptions. We prefered to stay under the shade of the trees back there because we already spent some nightscdirectly at the beach. The shelters next to each and every spots are delightfull.
Here you'll hear some noise from the street, as well as the waves crashing, but nothing bad.
Perfect location to get all your things done in Cotonou.
we stayed at Blacky's place a few nights while we were doing our visa.
we had a very good time here! Blacky and his family are super lovely and welcoming. good food is also available.
it's just the perfect place to do the visa stuff!
We camped here.
As said by all, nice place to stay and the owner is friendly and helpful.
Electricity is via generator which is turned on around 6 or so (basically in the evening) till around 10 or so - wasn’t look at watch when it went dark.
The place like all those all this stretch is mostly for day visitors who come to spend time in one of the huts. They bring their music, food and alcohol and have a party. Families as well with kids spending time there.
We wanted to pitch our tent in one of them but when the visitors arrived we decided rather to stay behind Blacky’s house where there are also some huts.
He has a toilet area that is nicely tiled (only one that has a door) the other did not.
No running water - so bucket to flush. The toilet was clean (so seat in tact, still white, clean) and a small sink and a little space next to the toilet to do your bucket shower and drain. Functional. Some cockroach friends for entertainment.
We parked our 4x4 there but decided to pitch a tent - felt safe
There are many restaurants along the beach (traditional beach hut restaurants serving local dishes and lots of music.
So you can walk and find the vibe you want.
Blacky said it was safe to walk in the dark - which we did and after we returned via the beach and felt safe.
Next morning we walked the beach and it was beautiful
Report Check-InThey didn’t allow us to camp on the beach. We were told to park right next to the road, no privacy whatsoever. 3000 per person is waaay too much money for roadside camping. We left and stayed at the wildcamping spot a little west of here.
Report Check-InWarm welcome by Blacky and his family. He helped us park out by the ocean so that we could enjoy the breezes. Good value for the area at 3,000 CFA per person. Potable water available, small bar, all very clean and tidy. Nice beach to walk on. Bucket toilet and shower.
Report Check-InNEW PRICE : 3000 CFA per night. absolutely not friendly with us... lots of broken bottles and trashes on the sand.
Report Check-InNew rules here : now it's 3000 cfa per night (1 vehicle, 2 people)
Bucket shower / toilets (not clean)
The place to camp is on the sand (lots of trashes, empty glass bottles ...) along the track, no privacy (not a bad way, we just prefer mentioned it ;)
Possible to fill your water tank there.
Perfect place on the beach, we are in a truck, there was room and shade. Didn’t use ablutions as have our own. We got laundry done and could fill up with water. Really helpful owners, calm and laid back place. Highly recommended. Vendors selling all sort of things stop but nobody hassles you. We stayed several nights. Lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance, besides the bar on site.
Report Check-InPerfect location directly on the beach and we had shade. Room for a truck, we didn’t use the ablutions as have our own. Super helpful owners, easy access and lots of bars and restaurants around you. Quiet nights.
Report Check-InI went to be with a cyclist friend of mine. We got a room to store our bikes and stuff and were sleeping in our tents. Everything was alright until the night after my friend left. My bleutooth speaker and headphones (worth 80 USD) disappeared. Blackys first guess was my friend took it!!! I told him it is not an option. He then said his foolish worker would be then. He got angry on his wife and others because that day he was not in the camping. Later when I was leaving I asked if I still have to pay him concerning the damage I suffered, he told me I made the whole thing up for not paying! This guy is not stable. I don't see a point staying in a wide open camping and paying instead of Wild Camping. My Instagram is @lokalbikes
I have been to remote villages and nothing similar happened to me. From now on I will avoid any stays close to big cities.
PS: I still paid him 10k CFA for 5 nights stay, took beers and drinks in their bar and tipped his workers 2k CFA
good and nice place to stay
in a overland car truck
you need everything yourself
You give what you want. We stayed 4 nights because the place is cool, safe and Blacky and his nice family is doing the best to welcome you. The best place to stay around "La route des pêches"
Report Check-InNice resort close to the beach. Still open and a warm welcome. Put my tent because of the weather in a hut. If you want food or drinks that will be arranged.
Report Check-Inthe place has two names at the moment. paradis du Soleil (house of Blacky) and the tropical escape (bar/restaurant) in our opinion is this the best place if you have to choose between Chez rada and this one. more comfort and more chose to stay. you can stay just where you want. on the beach, it is okay, in the shade also fine. just what you want. we loved it. also the restaurant is very nice with good food and not so noisy like all the other restaurant on the beach.
Report Check-InWe spent most of our afternoons in Cotonou on Blackie’s beautiful shaded beach. He is such a lovely man and his property is paradise. You should absolutely make time to come here. This whole area is so wonderful and peaceful. Our favourite place in Cotonou.
Report Check-InAn amazing hideaway, just on the beach front. Blacky and his family have a "pailotte" that they rent out for groups at the weekends, otherwise you can camp right on the beach front, or by the house itself. Definitely visit on a Sunday when the whole beach lights up. There is electricity if required, just buy fuel for the generator. 5 litres will see you through a couple of evenings (~2000CFA) if you need it. There are toilets, and fresh water is available for bucket showers. Pay what you feel like paying, (don't be tight, this place merits so much more than that). Blacky speaks French and English.
It is difficult to put into words how special this place is. Blacky and his family live by the ethos of taking everything that comes as it comes. The place is first and foremost a camping spot, and as campers you will be made to feel welcome. A truly special and beautiful place. We stayed for a month (!)
