Something not right?

Description

absolutely horrible experience. Price is gouging, most expensive camp for very little, $70 got us water and power with a small site. Brutally slow wifi. Hot tub’s heater and jets don’t work. To top it off, a kid defecated in the pool which caused the staff to close it for the night at 6pm. It’s 95 degrees out and the only reason we considered this over priced joke of a campground was for the use of it’s pool and hot tub, both of which are grossly inadequate. Extremely loud, busy, lots of unsupervised screaming kids running around and crying babies in the middle of the night. Tightly crammed spaces.

Latest Check-Ins

Fairly costly sites, $70+ for full hookups, 20/30/50 amp, water and sewer, patio and furniture, BBQ and fire pit. Prices may be lower for sites that are less well equipped. This KOA does have amenities that vary from nice and well executed to needing some improvements. We were camped in the patio site area, which is all pull-thru with, with concrete patios, table and chairs, glider rocker, fire pit and Webber gas grill. The site was in perfect condition when we arrived. Hookups were in good working order and not worn out or trashed. The pool and hot tub were not online due to the date of our visit, pool and hot tub operate from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Bathroom and laundry facilities (Comfort Stations), were newer structures, in good working condition, clean and appeared to get maintenance throughout the day. The bathrooms at the main office were not open as they were being remodeled. Kids playground is equipped with modern equipment and had my daughter enthralled with it for most of the time were were camped there. On-site coffee hut was also not open this time of year, with operating season similar to pool and hot tub.

Staff was very friendly, and they run about the place on "gators" throughout the day doing incidental maintenance. Garbage service is provided to all sites, just put your trash out at the edge of your site between 8am and 6pm and they will pick it up and whisk it away.

Overall layout of the campground is odd. The entry to the campground has changed in the past few years, so be aware that you enter the campground from Zelt Strassee and not Riverbend Dr. The new entry to the campground bisects the new pull-thru patio sites. The old, but remodeled, main office is at the back of the property, so be aware and follow the directional signs as you come in.

Took a cursory look at the cabins they rent. They have a lot of the older electric, no plumbing cabins, which all seemed to be rented out while we were there, but they have many new cabins, which have kitchens and bathrooms in them, along with some with lofts and high ceilings.

We will come again as this place really was great for kids, and for the entertainment value it provided our daughter, along with the quality of the site, it was hard to beat.

they wanted 16.50 to dump here. not sure if that's a fair price or not, just in a converted van with no black tank. I told them I just wanted 20 gal potable water and they still said it's 16.50. Not sure about the rest of the place but if water is all you want then try somewhere else.
