Canyon not unlike monument valley | Tourist Attraction

Well, as Arizonans, I think we can say this place is nothing like monument valley. That being said, it is spectacular and worth seeing. Road conditions currently quite good, appears to be more the main route tours are currently taking on the SW circuit, even through maps.me indicates the road to the north as the primary road.

The road has been renovated. We went to the dry season with a 4x4 jimny. No problem. We passed a truck the other way. Completely practical. The canyon is magnificent.

La route à été rénovée. Nous sommes passés à la saison sèche avec un 4x4 jimny. Aucun problème. Nous avons croisé un camion dans l'autre sens. Tout à fait praticable. Le canyon est magnifique.

The canion is definitely worth a visit but you need to be aware of the road conditions for the next 11 km. It seems as if rainy season has torn apart the road and there’s been no maintenance. So be prepared for a ripped path with deep potholes, washboard, rocks and river crossings. We did it on a 40-year-old, heavy loaded BMW 450 cc motorbike and barely made it to the main road. I couldn’t imagine how a car would make it. As the river doesn’t have a lot of water at the moment (end of April 2019) locals drive through the riverbed from the canyon to -21.535919, -66.352714 and get back to the road there to avoid the worst part.
Unfortunately we noticed that too late.

A fascinating canyon with bizare rock formations. One of the best sceneries we have seen in Bolivia. If you are not afraid of flash floods you will find very nice camping spots in the canyon.
