Pin isn’t in the right place! But it’s a really cool spot on the beach with mountains surrounding. Couple fire pits, a broken down bus. Leave no trace. Wonderful spot by the lake. Down a gravel road far enough from the main road and well hidden. Plenty of room for a few campers, and bigger area just before the lake. Big vehicles and big RVs can turn but be prepared for many pot holes. No service.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Indeed a crowded spot, but for a reason : it's beautiful and peaceful !
Few bugs for the season, swimming spot, very friendly vanlifers to talk with, and a nice sunset !
Report Check-InStayed for two nights. Swam every day. River was 3feet deep all the way across. Rock bottom first 5ft, sticky mud 10ft, and rest is sand bottom. Water is clear and you can see bottom.
Very little bug there for the two days. Get there early as it filled and many people ended up parking away from water close to school bus. No cell service, but starlink worked :)
Report Check-InWe decided to stay here a second nigh. We arrived earlier and we noticed lots of garbage and broken beer bottles. We cleaned everything we saw. I am pretty sure there is glass on the ground still. Be careful and clean a bit if you can
Report Check-InAs previous reviews. Expect many potholes , but cars are ok . No cell signal whatsoever. A few broken bottles lying around. If you don’t see the school bus, you are not at the right place.
Report Check-InVery nice place. There is one picnic table and few places where you can do fire. Unfortunately there was lot of mousquitos.
Report Check-InStayed here for 2 nights at different spots. My 2wd sedan made it down to the last site without bottoming out (very much). Super cool spots right on the water. Seems like a popular spot for people so get there early enough to be sure there’s space
Report Check-InBumpy road down to the waterfront. We parked our campervan down the second turnoff after passing the school bus. Beautiful spot. Heavy bugs, so you'll want to have screens.
Report Check-InNice spot near the end of the lake. Koordinates didn't work at my device. My koordinates say
N 49°23.362 W057°42.643
awesome place......nice and quiet
hiding dry toilet
nwefoundland magic bus 😁✌️
Awesome spot right on the lake with a picnic table and fire pit. Perfect spot, and it’s free! There is a small hill to get down to this bit, I’m not sure if a big rig could get down here was just in my minivan. But there is a spot closer to the entrance by the big school bus that would seem to work.
Report Check-Inhad to spend the night on the small track leading to the spot as snow still blocked the 2WD access. but still quiet with no-one bothering. seems to be the only spot between the two parts of the NP
Report Check-InThe gravel road that leads to this area is small but manageable with a B class. Stayed 1 night, very quiet, nice lake and mountain spot.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot!! Had no trouble finding it with the coordinates. No cellphone service.
Report Check-InAs described. I liked the waterfront spots but there are further along the road which comes to a dead end flatter and out of the way spots as well. There’s actually a broken down bus and a broken down trailer there. Looks like an four wheeler path as well. I enjoyed my stay :)
Report Check-InBeautiful with a clean spot next to a decent beach. There was a fire pit and picnic table for our use. A wide RV may have a hard time getting down the lake but there was other decent areas to park.
Report Check-InWow! What a beautiful spot right on the lake.
We drove to the 3rd beach spot and there’s room for at least 3 vans to camp here.
No facilities and previous campers left their toilet paper all over the place so please do your part and keep this place clean!
Pack out what you pack in and if there’s some garbage when you arrive please clean that up too!
We spent the afternoon hiking The Lookout ( trailhead starts at the Discovery Center) then made it back to the lake in plenty of time for dinner.
Pin isn’t in the right place! But it’s a really cool spot on the beach with mountains surrounding. Couple fire pits, a broken down bus.
Leave no trace 🌎
Report Check-InAs described. Beautiful spot on the water. We took a pickup and 25ft travel trailer down the hill but I don’t know if I would do it again.
Report Check-InStayed here two different nights. And ya the road in is not where your gps will take you but real close. The first night I camped at the 1st beach and the other time the 3rd beach. 3rd beach is way better, can’t see the road, but both beaches have great views of the lake and mountains. Thanks for the good tip!
Report Check-InThe exact turn is around 300m before the GPS says "you have arrived". It is a turn on a dirt road towards the water. Drive down the road and on it you will find several small turns leading to the water. We took the 3rd one, parked on the lake with gorgeous views and a fire pit.
Report Check-InWonderful spot by the lake. Down a gravel road far enough from the main road and well hidden. Plenty of room for a few campers, and bigger area just before the lake.
Report Check-Innext to a Pond and River. Lots of space. gravel is in good conditions. close to the Highway but quiet at night and no wind.
