Description

We tried to camp here on the Cranberry road, police are cracking down. Kicked us and another van out. Said some locals are complaining about illegal campers, this is considered state park and overnight camping is not allowed.

If you visit this beach (not to spend the night as it sounds like that isn’t allowed anymore, but just to visit), definitely be careful of your children or pets. People drive pretty fast and literally right along the water’s edge. My dog came incredibly close to being run over (on a beach which is pretty weird when you think about it). It was a Saturday so probably the worst time as far as that goes…but it was really scary and I wanted to put out a warning that this is not a regular beach where you can enjoy a walk with out worrying about traffic. I appreciate that people like being able to drive on the beach, but not everyone is doing it responsibly :(

Slept in the pull out next to the toilets. Forbidden to stay on the beach for the night. Was jealous to watch the 4x4 going in the sand . Beautiful and quiet night. Surprisingly locals come and go in the morning but still it’s quiet. One of them( grumpy woman) took our licence plate in photo ( we where 3 vans), saying she would call the police… but honestly there is no signs and in a previous comment, police knows and said nothing. It’s a nice spot

Stayed for one night in a van, parked across from a Skoolie. No problems at all besides a local who honked when they drove by in the morning. Really pretty beach access if you have the right vehicle! There’s a pit toilet too.

A little patch of gravel off to the side of the road, pulled off with one other vehicle, only a few cars and a few solo people walked by with flashlights to go to the bathroom which is located across the street.

Beach access is reopen in Long Beach it seems like! This town is wonderful! Love it here.

Myself and 4 other RV got kicked out. Officer/ranger said that it was state park land and we were not allowed to stay the night.

One of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. Definitely did get my Ford Focus stuck for a second but with help of some friendly people it was resolved pretty quickly. There’s a nice pull off of of the beach right before for when you’re ready to to bed. Can’t wait to catch the sunrise tomorrow :) also very nice bathrooms very close to the pulloff. Make sure you don’t camp on the beach!!

Great beach! When we spent the night here there were two other vehicles, one with a 20 ft trailer and another that had set up two tents. There was some traffic to and from the beach throughout the night but not too loud. Park employees even stopped by to clean the toilets in the morning and no one was asked to leave.

Stayed one night here without any issues. No signs prohibiting camping. Nice flat spot not too far from beach. Road that dead ends on the beach is surprisingly busy at night / morning.

We stayed on the beach all day, watched the sunset then drove just a few feet to this pull out. There was another van there too. Legit spot. Pit toilet if you need it. Local authorities don’t care as long as you’re not camping on the beach. At sunrise we drove back out onto the sand and made breakfast.

Fantastic location with access to an absolutely beautiful beach! Drove my van onto the sand to watch a stunning sunset 🌞. Quiet, private and safe pullout. Reccomend!

Report Check-In

Spent the night in the pull off next to some restrooms with one other vehicle...was not bothered and very quiet... the road is access to the beach...the police drove by last night but did not stop and say anything...no posted signs near us on the road just signs saying no overnight on the beach.
