Description

Old gravel pit on BLM Land, stay where you want to. Pretty silent, stayed here for a night with 2 other RVs near by.
For the more adventurous people, next day i followed the Poverty Point road for a mile, then turned left, that Road brings you to the Road that follows the Power lines up to a hidden valley were i stayed another 2 nights, totally quiet and private. Take care with pets, there are some little thorny plants, no good for the paws.

I was the only one there with a lot of shotgun shells. I didn’t feel safe so left. Maybe in the summer it is better but I really with people would clean up after themselves.

Pretty easy gravel road, nice views and open space. LOTS of trash, picked up a bunch, but it would take a team to pick all this up. Once the sun went down there was a good amount of bugs, but why would you be out here if you’re scared of bugs (; If you’re adventurous make sure to walk around and explore the land. I’ll definitely come back.

Report Check-In

like others mentioned, quiet, beautiful sunset and sunrise. Remote, good for pups and evening walks.

Took the right instead of the left per another reviewer. Definitely more sheltered from the wind. Lots of trash, shooting targets and shell casings as to be expected. Lots of room for our dogs to roam around. Watch out for the large red ant hills! Otherwise, beautiful and peaceful spot to park for the night.

People showed up around mid morning to shoot so we left shortly after.

I hesitated to come here because it seemed further west than I really wanted to go from salt lake. I came on a Thursday night, and there is absolutely nobody here, and it's visually more appealing than I imagined. The sunset shaping up to be amazing and although it's a bit windy there is not much trash and there are no people to bother me. looking forward to a good night sleep.

Quite a few options here not far from the highway. The roads were easy getting there and it felt safe

Report Check-In

Quiet and easy to find. Road names aren’t inviting, but felt very safe. My dogs loved running around. ATT had service in and out. Wasn’t great for the next morning when I woke up with a flat tire.

Awesome place, but you will want to be sure you are camping on public land. Some of this area is private so bookdocking may not be appreciated.

Easy access. Easy to find. Solid gravel road. Lots of shell casings; otherwise clean. Empty when we checked in at 5PM on this Monday in July.

Stayed for night with no hassles but... Drive in from freeway was easy per directions (big pot hole on frontage). The destination is a place full of shells on the ground. We also tried the Hidden Valley suggestion with the Tacoma 4x4 but wasn’t worth it-got to where the road was right next to the telegraph poles and decided to turn back (some sharper rocks had us worried). We chose a gravel spot for our tent (just before coming to the final destination, you will see a turn off to the right, take that road and drive about 20 feet, flat gravel spot on the left).

No one around, beautiful view and quiet. At 11:15pm, we see a headlight nearby, and turns out they were doing some late night shooting. It was a safe distance on the other side of the mound but we can hear the shots, the pings on the targets, and slight chatter. We gave up on waiting for them to leave and slept at 12:30am. Luckily, they wrapped it up then too.

I’d stay again but away from that spot.

We were kind of confused on where to go once on the poverty point road and made the first right and just parked in an empty dusty lot. Some glass and trash but we were the only ones there and quiet and nice. Super windy, not much coverage in terms of shade, and kinda close to the road. Could see the lake and the city tho 🤗🤗

Tattoine... without the charm. However it is quiet and sleep calls.

Report Check-In

Nice quiet location. Came in after dark and woke up to a nice sunrise. There were a few other campers and rigs parked off in the distance. My only suggestion is, these coordinates take you to a very dry dusty pit area that also looks like it’s gets muddy in the winter. There is a MUCH BETTER spot if you turn right instead of left and go up the little hill. Gravel, and sheltered from the wind by a small hill.

Report Check-In

I was wary of going in too far -the ground looks solid and is fine as long as no rain expected. You can see evidence of places where people got stuck and I was expecting rain so stayed closer to gun shooting area. It was quiet and good clear sky at night no road noise

Nice place to camp for the night. We stayed here on our way through Utah. We pulled in after dark and were the only ones there. We felt safe but it was very windy.

Report Check-In

A little far off the highway, but quiet and great place to sleep while passing through
