The cascade park was closed for some kind of maintenance so we stayed next to the bridge and river. The spot has a designated bbq stand but otherwise is simply a gentle slope with plenty of room for one or two rigs. Big rigs can probably get down the hill but will be hitting some foliage on the way. We are in a pop top truck camper and we’re fairly good all the way down. We were told it was safe by one local who spoke great English, but also checked in at the tienda just up the hill, purchased a couple of beers and checked again we were good to stay the night. All smiles and yes’s and everyone was friendly. Not a bad wild camp spot at all, fairly clean, firefly’s lots of butterflies and a bubbling river.

Very nice spot accessible by any car even though the descent is quite steep and there're many curves so take care. It's still free the locals are very friendly, there're some pigs, chickens, and cows strolling around. We didn't go to the waterfall cause it's 80$ per person and we preferred to save money for other stuff on the road.
There is no signal, no trash bins or bathrooms (but it's not hard to go into the nature here). You are just next to the road, but there are not many cars passing. We felt safe and spent a quiet night with a bonfire.
Report Check-InShallow running water offered a really nice and flat spot for the night. A few cars passed by during the evening but the location is very quiet and peaceful. Friendly dogs and pigs visited us.
Report Check-Inwater not running at this time of year and the stagnant water appeared to be a breeding ground for all manner of bugs. we elected not to stay.
Report Check-InRoad was fine - a few branches overhead. Beautiful clean campsite. We walked to the small store up the hill - they had snacks and WiFi available. Note - before camping here we drove to the waterfall to see if camping was open - coming back across the bridge was tight - wouldn’t recommend if longer than 27 feet.
Report Check-InGreat little spot next to a little river. Bought beers at the tienda to ask if it was alright and said yes. I think I saw a puma at night….
Report Check-InFood a safe stay for a night. Cascades one turn up are beautiful. About 25 minutes easy walk. The road down is steep and in some sections bad. We made anyway with our 4x4 truck. Only some branches hitted our roof.
Report Check-InThe cascades were closed due to Covid. Camped the night here by the river. Our truck (MB917 12’ tall ) 4x4 made it no problem. Quiet and safe. Rooster started up @ 4am then loud music at 6am from farm house above.
