Large dirt parking lot on National Forest land, with pit toilet. Near a river :) Several other vehicles here.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
made the mistake of coming down from washington pass midday in july, it was horribly hot in Winthrop. we backtracked to this site (but didn’t go as far as these coordinates) and thankfully found a spot under the shady trees, perfect for setting up some hammocks. we can see a few other people camped across the way in the open lot, definitely space to spread out. only 1 bar of at&t but it works great.
Report Check-InLarge lot and none of it is level. We found a spot right next to the exit where we’re able to get almost level with all of our blocks. 2 bars on Verizon and working great.
Report Check-InAmazing spot! I wish there were more places like this!!! Pretty close off the Cascade Loop (HW20) and it’s just a MASSIVE dirt lot (like could fit 50+ cars massive) with a toilet. Free! There were 10 ish cars, RVs, and vans parked all just staying the night and also looked like there were quite a lot of trails around. This spot was gold!!
Report Check-InNice large dirt/gravel lot on national forest land. There is a sign saying the area requires a permit, but the website clarifies that a Washington State Sno-Park Permit is required only during Nov-March. The lot is open to the sky, but surrounded by tall trees. There are a few level areas but most of the lot has a slight incline, nothing a leveling block or two wouldn't fix if it's a concern. Pit toilet available. The gravel road leading to the site is washboarded but not too badly. 2 bars Verizon. There were about a dozen vehicles this evening, including a group of SUVs, several vans (including our 21' Promaster), and a couple of larger 25-30' rigs, but plenty of space for all.
Report Check-InSee every one elses description before. Same a big lot, a pit toilet, & a place to sleep.
Ended up staying 2 nights
great spot, 5 vehicles tonite, plenty of space, quiet, only one pit toilet,
Report Check-InLarge lot or pull offs along forest road, very nice trails to creek or climbing or across road to river. Good Verizon by sno-park lot, further up has no signal. Town is very close and has a nice gear shop and small fancy grocery
Report Check-InConvenient spot with plenty of other campers. Pit toilet was clean.
Report Check-Innice place to stay. the lot is huge and there were tons of other people there camping but no one was right on top of each other. a large trail leaves from the lot too. there are pit toilets although we did not use them. good sunlight too for solar. the dirt road leading in is washboarded but not very long so it was easy to get to. definitely big rig friendly. and good cell coverage. we stayed 2 nights. there's also some nice places to go swimming not too far from this place. there's river access about a 5 minute drive away and a really nice lake state park about 30 minutes away. it's called pearygin lake state park, they had coin showers there but I'll add the coordinates for that in a different review.
Report Check-Inbig parking lot mountain bike / x country trails
skiing and a pit toilet.
This spot worked well for one night. It is just a giant dirt lot with a pit toilet. On memorial weekend there were a lot of other campers but most people were quiet so it was a good nights sleep. It is connected to a trail into Mazama which is convenient. He can accommodate all size weeks you can turn large eggs around and so forth.Verizon worked well here but AT&T did not.
Report Check-Inthis place is alright for an overnight. there are several other people spread out here tonight. there is a sign at the front that says "parking with permit only. violators subject to fine". not sure what permit youre supposed to have but we're gonna risk it without one. there are a ton of bees and other pesky flying critters here.
Report Check-InGood size dirt lot and pit toilet. Stayed here 3 nights while exploring the area. Not super elegant but it gets the job done. No ATT service with my hotspot, but 2 bars of Verizon LTE.
Report Check-InLarge parking lot for snowmobile parking. But, works great as an overnighter for a day or two. Plenty of room for any size rig. Some nice spots along the perimeter and a few rock fire pits.
