Really nice rest area off I-57 South, directly on a lake, tons of grassy areas, trees and picnic tables. There is also a tourist information center and vending machines. Picture is taken on the loop away from the main parking area. Recommend for an easy overnight or lunch stop. Also can park near the lake if you go through the car entrance

Beautiful beautiful rest stop. Got in about 9:30 last night in our Chevy passenger bus. Parked in a marked spot behind the building (past the first lot). Beautiful lake views to wake up to and the stop is so clean and well maintained. Staff did see that I spent the overnight and there seemed to be no issues. I moved toward the lake in the morning and parked off of the turnaround area. Space for bigger rigs there along the drive. I worked virtually until about 11 am when I headed out. I would definitely add the extra bit of time to come off of 64 and stop here!
No lake access.
I passed by here going the other way a couple years ago and was tempted to backtrack a few miles on the highway to stay here. I wish I would have! it's a bit of a walk to get to the facilities from the camping loop, but it's worth it!
Report Check-InCircle where you can park next to the lake. Must go through the car entrance to get there. Also plenty of truck parking available.
Report Check-InAmazingly beautiful. Go to the parking area next to the lake if you don’t need the facilities. The main lot was jam packed, and I was one of only two vehicles near the lake. It’s an impressively beautiful spot, and I intend to make this a planned stopping place when traveling on this route.
If you catch a spot that the trees block the light, it’s really dark. There’s highway noise, but it’s quiet enough that I didn’t hear it at all inside my vehicle.
Again.. wow. Thank you for this place! It’s a gift to us travelers.
Report Check-Inreally nice stop for the night plenty of parking and beautiful view of the lake
Report Check-InIncredible little free rest area. We went down to the lakeside loop and parked our 21ft Skoolie and stayed the night. We had an amazing view of the lake and the sunset was gorgeous. The bathrooms were nice and clean (but the stall gap was enormous lol). Very quiet, spacious, and we had no traffic on the loop.
Report Check-InBeautiful Place for one night to stay. Probably the most beautiful rest area I’ve seen larger Rigs can park out in the gravel turn around and smaller rigs can park up by the bathroom
Report Check-InNice rest area on the lake ! Several people staying here in other vehicles and lots of trucks . Beautiful view !
Report Check-InBeautiful rest stop right on the lake. Plenty of parking. Bathrooms currently not open. All parking IS OPEN. A little loud right next to a major highway and hearing the trucks come in and out.
Report Check-InBeautiful rest stop but restrooms closed so be aware if you need facilities. LOTS of trucks and vehicles parked for the night when we arrived around 9pm, but still fairly quiet.
Wayne Fitzgerald State Park is nearby and has clean, open restrooms if needed.
We arrived here late at night, but it seems to a beautiful place, not very crowded right now, a couple of pelicans on the late, tables on the nice grass bordering the lake, pretty quiet for being close to the highway. We love it! Our rig is 27 feet + long car. Easy to access, lateral parking.
Report Check-Invery nice place to stay, beautiful lake, with picnic tables and beautiful sunset. was relatively quiet. bathrooms we're clean. saw a few other camper vans, and the parking lot had plenty of space for more travelers. plenty of lighting and security cameras too, so good for solo travel. Has to be one of the best rest stops on the highway, grateful it was here!
Report Check-InBeautiful view! Cannot believe this is a rest stop and that they allow free overnight parking with a lake view. Very quiet considering it is right off of the interstate. Clean bathrooms and nice vending machines. I was heading north and had to turn around to come back to this side. I'm glad it was worth the trip!
Report Check-InQuiet spot to spend the night with an amazing view. It’s a rest area but you can park right by the lake. I didn’t park by the main parking lot. Restroom are very clean. They have touristic brochures and plenty of vending machines.
