Description

Skagit Logging Clearing Roadside. Was trying to park at a site a few hundred feet further up the way but it was taken, so came back to this little pull out with plenty of space for my van. A barrier of large rocks helps to create some shelter but pretty exposed next to hillside that has been logged. If it's dry, plenty of rocks to make a fire ring and wood everywhere. Reasonably level and full cell service on TMobile at least. It's quiet up here in the forest, a truck might come down the dirt road every half hour or so. Not the best site ever, but far from the worst.

Latest Check-Ins

The logging road is very well maintained. The only real issue that I saw was potential clearance issues with some vehicles. I have a Toyota Prius and didn't have any trouble, but I had to be careful, or I would have bottomed out all the time. There are a lot of pull offs. Also I wasn't the only one on the road.

Report Check-In

Visited this spot 8/13/23 and it was blocked off by giant concrete blocks. Same with other spots in the area. Wasn’t able to find a spot for our van along this road.

We tried to spend a night there as we also did few weeks ago. We found this place being closed. Someone put boulders in front of it so it is not pull out anymore :/

Report Check-In

Riddled with trash, bullet shells, nails, etc. My dog found (and ate, ew) human waste that was not hidden at all. Beautiful view, but didn’t feel safe enough as a solo female traveler to stay more than a night. Could be such a great spot.

Report Check-In

As described, old forest logging operation, now seems like a locals shooting range complete with a blown up SUV stripped down and shot up in one of the spots at the top of the hill. However, the first large flat spot out of the woods is great. Lots of trash and casings but if overlook all that, you get epic views of the valley and amazing sunsets! Wildlife is abundant as well, herds of Elk up here in the clearing, hawks screeching overhead, and much more! Only 1-2 bars Verizon but still fast speeds. Road is doable in any type of vehicle.

Report Check-In

Flat spot with great views. Lots of bullet shells/ beer bottles. A little sketchy. Road is gravel with potholes but my 2wd sedan did fine.
