Shouting match at tent city at midnight. Not the cleanest no toilets we only stayed here as we needed mechanic otherwise id avoid

Nothing special, but an easy spot close to town if you want to camp for free. Definitely a few people living here in trailers, cars, and potentially out in the open. This town is a free-for-all, in that there is a tent city on the other side of the ferry port from here, so I doubt you'll get any push back from law enforcement. Some noise from vehicles driving into the lot, and the main road, but not bad.
Good walking path from here north to the spit, and south past the ferry.
Good cell service, streamable.

Perfect spot for one night. Especially here where Boondocking is very difficult to find.

Endroit calme pour passer la nuit, grand stationnement face à la Marina.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot to sleep overnight in our camper van! Tons of spaces & great marina views :) located by a McDonald’s with good Wi-Fi and a Tim hortons + Wendy’s!

Some homeless walking around but no one bothered us. We loved this spot! Sign says 48 hours of parking for free.

(* the first picture contributed with a tent isn’t accurate?? Swipe for accurate ones! )

Easy place to park. Tons of camping. Nice community of homeless people here and potentially some dealing. Still though, didn’t have any problems for the night.

Huge parking with view to the harbor and ferry terminal.
Some homeless people around.
Almost quiet at night.

Stayed here for 2 nights. No camping sign not enforced; met a guy who’s been there a month. Beautiful sea view, quite windy. Lots of cars coming and going. Stay Derbie x

big lot that allows 48 hour parking. no camping sign not enforced, stayed here the night with about 6 other camper vans. windy, no privacy, a bit dirty. 2 bars LTE. across from tims, wendy’s, mcdonald’s, etc. good spot for a night in a pinch

Currently there is a 'No Camping' sign. The last post I believe is the wrong location. The photo is also definitely wrong. This location is the Marina. Saw a few RVs there.

On the way to the BC Hydro Strathcona Dam, look down to your left while going along the river. There are a couple tent sites, just park in the pullout our and walk your stuff down. Could get in a 4 x 4 vehicle possibly, but it would have to be small.

Right by the water. The free section has green parking signs noting boat trailers. Highway nearby but quiet at night. No one else around when I was here.

Report Check-In

Ok, but just a dirt/gravel parking area. Allowed to stay up to 48 hours. There is a pay section and free section, so note the signage. Traffic noise is not bad.
