Something not right?

Description

Drive a little bit past the coordinates, and the turn is on the right. Site is clearly marked with a (5). Other remote campers nearby, but still felt very private and secluded with all the trees. Some phone service. Recommend!

At free site #9. Road is a washed out mess and it’s pretty crowded. Spot isn’t very level but it beats $40 a night at Mesa Verde Campground.

Report Check-In

This place is in wrong location - it is located at 37.35928, -108.42697

Report Check-In

A pretty nice site!! Good vibe & quiet overnight. Few other people staying, couple tents, and a class A. Decent distance between sites too. Watched the full moon rise at 9pm

A little bit lumpy but no problem for taller 2WD as it is pretty hard soil, packed and dry currently. A longer vehicle may need some more work to feel level

Report Check-In

this is now open, it is only closed seasonally

Report Check-In

It’s open! And pretty much the only can say that is open in Colorado! Because of the heavy winter, the Parks have delayed reopening. I got in last night and checked about 25 different campsites in the area, every single one was closed. I ended up sleeping in the parking lot of one of them. Ran into a couple filling water at the national park across the highway, and they mentioned this spot.
It’s good, 14 designated campsites. 14 day limit. Pretty good T-Mobile service in this site -#13. I was able to work without any issue.

Dirt roads, dry trees, pretty view. Pretty busy, I think almost full.
Can only imagine what a nightmare it would be if it was wet. Be prepared. Any car would be fine if roads are dry.

10 minutes from town. It’ll do the job for a few days.

Perfect to visit Mesa Verde National Park. It is free, close to NP and the landscape are nice.

Report Check-In

Not sure why this place is marked as closed…These camping spots are on BLM land. Nice area, enough separation from the other campsites with the junipers.

Report Check-In

This spot is one of the few that is almost flat. I went there from the 160 then 34.
Numbered spot are clearly posted.

No acces , the fense is closed…. Please close this place.

Tried to stay here, but homeowner came out and asked us to leave. Never did find 15 marked areas, yet plugged in coordinates into the GPS. Moved onto Road 316, top of the pass, turned out to be a much better spot.

Report Check-In

room for 3 to 4 rigs easily, 5 or 6 if you wanna get close.

Update: I forgot to attach the pictures.

Report Check-In

Road easily accessible in 2wd. There’s 15 marked spots. If you drive to the end there’s a turn around and private property fence, but the blm spots are specifically numbered and marked. We opted for spot 15 because of the ones available it seemed the most level. Great spot if you’re visiting Mesa Verde NP.

The previous check-in from bob (5/27/22) is incorrect. There are no residential homes, in fact the area is quite remote. The road is wide and well maintained and the sites are spacious and large enough for several vehicles or RVs. There is a large Class C a few spots away.

Report Check-In

Easily accessible spot for small to medium size rigs. We saw a large class C and a converted school bus parked here. There are 15 designated spots, a few small pull-ins for one vehicle and others large enough for multiple RVs. Google Maps names the turn into the spot "Parking Lot for Chutes & Ladders." I think previous poster "bob" may have driven past the turn and gone to a residential area down the road.

Report Check-In

stayed on site 13..great place to stay, only complaint is that it was a bit dusty, but overall we enjoyed our 2 night stay

Report Check-In

not a good place to Camp all private property in residential homes I end up just driving to the rest stop a few miles down the road and spent the night there cuz it was late

Report Check-In

These are the coordinates to spot 15. Really great area to camp. Plenty of space & trees between sites for privacy, quiet, large sites, views and I had 2-3 bars with TMobile. Road in was well maintained.
Several trails are also on this road. Markers say they are open to hikers, bikers and horse back riding. They vary in length.
Google maps will try to take you the wrong way, so from US-160 make sure you turn onto CO Road 34. About a mile up this dirt road you will turn right and will see the signs regarding camping and numbered spots.

I’m actually in site #7 but this is a great place to camp. Tons of room. Clean and beautiful

Report Check-In

Really close to Mesa Verde National Park. There are at least 12 Camping spots with fire rings, some with beautiful view on the Mesa Verde Mountains. We camped one night at number 6 and one night number 4. Both good for watching the sunset! No trash can.
A little more crowded on Saturday, compared to Friday. Road is easy, maybe a bit narrow vor bigger RVs.

Stayed at site 9. Google played hell finding it, had to cut and paste coordinates. the coordinates are a little off, but worth the hunt. A little bit of traffic early. I have 3 bars on AT&T.
