Latest Check-Ins

Camping here in a 26’ trailer. No prob driving down the potholed dirt road - just took it slow. Was helpful that I arrived during slow season - can imagine it being stressful backing into a spot if I was holding up traffic during the high-season.

Great Verizon cell reception. Ok for solar. Haven’t tried Starlink yet but think it’ll be spotty - there are a fair number of trees around my camp spot.

Report Check-In

Very busy on a summer Tuesday afternoon. Lake is less clear than some of the other ones around here. I think if I had been able to snag one of the pullouts, we would have enjoyed it more but we could only get a parking spot on the dirt road. Beautiful scenery and would be great for kayaking or paddle boarding.

Great place. There are only a small handful of top-notch spots with lake access (lake was awesome for swimming, unlike what someone suggested below). The rest are forest-y spots which are also fine. Definitely walk up to the main Sparks Lake day use area itself to check it out, gorgeous mountain views up there. Lots of cars do pass by on the road, but everyone is driving super slowly because of how bumpy it is. I made it just fine in my Toyota Matrix.

A bunch of sweet spots before and along Sparks Lake
We drove a shuttle bus 29’ and made it fine. Pretty bumpy road but not bad if taken with ease.
Very nice for all activities (walking, tubing, biking, paddling)
Not too trashy either which is nice! Pack it out people

Decent gravel road down to the lake with several pull offs on either side to camp. Few cars went by around sunset but otherwise nice and quiet. Bring your bug spray as the mosquitoes are large. Made it down in our rwd Ford transit high roof no problems, just went slow on the rough spots. Bring some leveling blocks.

Report Check-In

Rough dirt road but passable with out Ford Transit. Saw about 6-8 spots along the road prior to the start of the Fee Area boundary. We were able to grab the last one on a Friday evening about 6pm. Also enjoyed a nice hike around the lake from the fee area trailhead.

Report Check-In

Definitely a lot of spots but we found them to be too close together and not the solitude we were looking for. We could hear multiples music playing from out spot on the lake mid week. The lake is also pretty murky and doesn’t look great for swimming
