Something not right?

Description

Very friendly helpful place. RV spots with full hook-up available, but we really liked the boon-docking no hook up green area at the back, away from the road, beautiful and peaceful ($15). Good bathrooms & fast WiFi whole site. A great reason to stay here, if conditions are right, Bill does an amazing star viewing session with very powerful telescope to learn about planets and the night sky (free, voluntary donations). We really liked it here and came back twice.

The place is OK. Wifi doesn’t work in the boondocking area.

I really love this place, I almost don’t want to post about it as I’ve been here over different years and it seems to be getting much busier, particularly in the dry camp area. I generally dry/dispersed camp, and don’t do many RV parks, if any, but this place is just so special. Everybody here is chill. Unpretentious. On their own journey. Cool with the comings and goings. There is a great little pond, with a deck overlooking the glass mountains that I love to do yoga on if the weathers good. Nice courtyard as well to hang in. Great internet/LTE service. Reasonable prices regardless if you dry camp ($15), plug in, or rent a room. Outdoor showers and laundromat added have made it even better. I hope this place never changes. Great home base when coming and going around big bend area. Love walking around town, doing runs through gage gardens, having a prickly pear margarita at the gage hotel, and picking up groceries at the French Grocer. Star parties on site are a nice bonus. Marathon is a total gem and my absolute favorite west Texas town. I will always come back to the marathon motel - best spot in town!

$40 for full hook up. They have added 4 outdoor showers and a flush toilet near the boondocking area. Also have laundry facilities. Great for pre and post Big Bend trips, which is what we did. Great verizon service here, so even if you don't pick up the wifi, still enough signal to stream.

It’s a nice place but the wifi doesn’t work in the boondocking area.

Lovely RV Park, after a long day on the road it was the perfect place to pull into. $15 for our Truck/Camper as we didn’t need water or hookups. Clean, nice hot shower and bathrooms (only one for men, one for women but never had to wait), wifi, beautiful courtyard and plenty of room for the dogs to move about as well. Was too cloudy to have a star show through the telescope but still enjoyed our stay overall. Would stop here again!

Nice campground and trailer park with an astronomy theme! Clean bathrooms and good showers, way better and cheaper ($15/300Ps) than anything we found south of the border over the past 5m.

Awesome spot. Beautifully decorated courtyard. Friendly people. We parked our van in tent area for $15. Restrooms and showers. Added plus the telescopes. Too windy for viewing but our own private tour of the sky and the telescopes. Wonderful beer and barbecue at brick vault. A definite come back to.

WiFi did not work and person at front seat useless with no solutions. Only one bathroom and shower for women and for men. Not enough for size of park. One trash can far far away from campsites. Bathrooms far far away from dry camping

What a great spot. $15 dry camping and the property has water you can fill, a dump station, a shower (just one so there’s sometimes a wait but it’s a nice one), wifi that actually works solidly and it’s a nice, safe and social place. The sign is misleading as it looks like a motel only but it’s almost entirely a camping spot. They have full hookups as well but didn’t bother with that. The office can be a little haphazard but overall felt like the people working there out a lot of effort into making it a great spot. It’s also about a 5-10 min walk to town, which isn’t much of a town but some decent spots (V6 coffee shop
Is great if you need to work). For being just a short drive to Big Bend I was very happy with the stay here for both value and convenience. There’s some road noise and a train does come through, but noise doesn’t bother me so I didn’t think much of it. Nice grounds, solid stay.

Perfect stop on your way into Big Bend. They offer several full hookup choices for $30 or the ‘tenting’ area for $15. We chose that and it is so nice! Cute little pond, benches, tent pads. Plenty of room for our 40 foot fifth wheel. Very quiet and peaceful except for the train that comes through 2-3 times per night with horn blaring!
