Nice place to spend the night at Virginia point park in Kenova. It’s a boat ramp parking lot. A train passes by not too far away. It’s not too loud and didn’t bother me. A police officer passed by and asked a few questions for safety purposes but was nice and let us spend the night. Standing at the north point of the park you can see Ohio and Kentucky while standing in West Virginia which is pretty cool. There’s a porta potty toilet.

Had no problems overnighting in the boat ramp parking lot. Nice quiet stay. Played a little frisbee on the park lawn. Good Verizon service.
Report Check-InNice parking lot
Darker than Walmart which was nice
I rolled in at around 8pm and didn’t want to make a reservation at the campground for the night and the parking lot was actually less crowded than the campground
Trains in the distance but I enjoy that sound a tugboats with barges going by on the river but not loud
Kinda cool to see Kentucky out one window and Ohio out the other and be in WV
Saw a few posts about police or camp hosts checking in with them but nobody gave me a hard time
Couple nice fields, would be great with a dog
Lots of crickets but hardly any mosquitos
Stayed here overnight. Nearby campground was full so no one hassled us about staying in the boat ramp parking lot. There were people loading boats up until midnight and it quieted down after that. A bit noisy with the train, but a nice spot otherwise. There were a few tent campers in a grassy area. Porta potty on site and trash cans.
Report Check-InWe were here about an hour when the campground host, which is directly beside the boat landing, drove over and stated that the police would make us move when they came by. Not sure if this was true as someone just posted 2 weeks or he wanted the revenue at the campground. The campground was $25.00 water and electric, dump station on site. Sites had gravel with concrete pads for picnic table. We opted to stay at campground to avoid a late night move just in case
Report Check-InStayed here one night in our sprinter van. The sign by the river says no camping, but nothing prohibiting overnight parking. We didn't have any issues. There is an actual campground near this location that has primative sites for $10; the dump station and water belong to them.
Report Check-InLovely spot with lots of green space for the pup. Quiet and isolated. Good cell reception (Verizon)
