The Viking Mall Parking Lot | Informal Campsite

This is a large, paved parking lot with level areas near the edge of town. It’s on the main road, however, there is very little traffic at night. We stayed 2 nights. The first night, there was another RV, car and tractor trailer overnighting with us. On the second night, there was one other car. Both were quiet nights. We noticed a small no overnight parking sign on our way out near the pizza restaurant. There was a good ATT cell signal while roaming on Bell and good Verizon signal while roaming on Telus. The Foodtown grocery store is well stocked, including produce. There’s a laundromat behind the Irving gas station. When in town, do check out Fishing Point Park, and the Grenfell Museums. The Lightkeepers restaurant serves great fresh fish meals.

Parked close to the foodland, ok ground. Had a very quiet night, light and noise are minimal. Gas and food around. Thanks

Plenty of RVs and trucks spend the night here, but it’s a terrible place to do so. It’s the late night meeting spot for local teenagers and other young idiots to rev their car engines, blast their stereos, and generally be very loud.

We pulled in to the far end of the parking lot next to a light post in front of Pizza Delight and there was a “no overnight parking” sign right outside our window. We didn’t bother asking and moved on.

We had dinner at Pizza Delight, and asked if we could park our motorhome in the parking lot for the night. They said it wouldn’t be a problem, and that RV’s park there overnight all the time. There was definitely lots of room for our 30 ft motorhome at the back of the lot near the Tim Hortons. There’s a Foodland and several other retail stores there as well.
