There is a riverbed that can be used as a parking to go to the cerro penitente mountain. It’s to the south of here, you can ask for info in the Aconcagua center, about 4km further west. It’s a average 7 hour hike, with a shelter about 2-3 hours up, in The Valley (aprox 4 km). The first step is to cross the sketchy wooden bridge ;)

Wow, what a scenic hike ! We did it in one long day : 22km, 1800m D+ and the summit is at 4350 above the sea level. We needed 10h. We had to pass 3 times thru the river and had water until the knees. So it's better to bring sticks during the spring.
Report Check-Ingreat hike to cerro penitentes, you should have some hiking experience to do it as it's quite steep in parts... 6 km and 600 m altitude to the refugio, where one (or maybe two people) can sleep inside or you can camp outside of course ... 4 more km and 1150 m to the top... fantastic 360° view!
